You know things are bad when North Dakota zooms past you.
Venezuela, by some measures home to the world’s largest crude reserves, saw oil output drop in September to a four-decade low of 1.17 million barrels. The same month saw North Dakota, owner of the Guinness World Record for the most snow angels, produce a record of nearly 1.3 million barrels.
This article is more about Venezuela than ND in my opinion.

Can't any government be disastrously mismanaged regardless of whether you categorize it as left or right? Is capitalism the cause of the problems in Somalia?

That's really how a lot of communist revolutions started. They blamed all the ills of society on capitalism. You're doing the same thing with so-called "socialist" countries.

Cult of personality driven populism destroyed Venezuela. Selling domestically produced gasoline domestically at $.02/gallon was sure to keep Chavez popular and in power, and it was sure to destroy the country.

I'm blaming everything on socialist countries?

I assumed because you are "Lean: Conservative" and talking about Venezuela that you were using Venezuela as an example of why socialism doesn't work. Was that your point?
