I predicted before the election that Lieberman would have the Dems by the short hairs if he were elected. This thread is dedicated to all those Democrats who told me I was full of crap for predicting that Lieberman might defect to the Republican party. Man o man, what a stink that would raise. I'd like to see it happen. LOL.

He basically referred to himself as a democrat numerous times and said he intends caucus with the Dems and only when absolutely pushed did he finally say, quite reluctantly I might add, that he wouldn't "rule it out."

By no stretch of the imagination could one read the article you posted and fear that Lieberman is going to defect to the Republican side.

But the dynamics of the Senate now will make that a distinct possibility. I never said that defection is a given. I said that it was a possibility.

It's an unlikelihood.

Its very likely. He is just waiting for an excuse... if the dems dont cave into his demands or look at him in a wrong way then he will switch to the other side, who of course will welcome him.

He wount get reelected next time, but that dont matter as that is years out in the future after all.

The people in CT were suckered by Loserman.

Lamont made a HUGE mistake by having Al Sharpton on the stage with him after winning the primary - it was all downhill for Lamont from there.

Is a recall possible if Lieberman switches parties?

Lieberman was elected as an independent. Democrats decided they didn't want him. Voters decided they wanted an independent rather than a Democrat, which would make any attempt at "recalling him" for "switching parties" something that ain't gonna happen, since the Democrat party had already decided that they didn't want him.

Really, what are the Democrats going to to, try to force a recall on Lieberman, when they booted him and their replacement got thrashed? I give that about a 0.00000001% chance of suceeding, and something that would do far more harm to the GOP than it would help the DNC, seeings as such an act gives the GOP all sorts of campaign fodder to use against the DNC.

When a democrat kowtows to the party line, he is great...but when he demonstrates he will think for himself and not kiss party a$$, he's a loser, eh dufus? Thanks for yet another demonstration of democratic tolerance.

Leiberman was actually elected by Republicans.........37% of the vote he got was by Republicans whereas only 25% was by Dems......He does not owe the Dems squat........They deserted him.......
