"In truth, the prime minister’s kidnapping and the US raid are both no more than symptoms of something that has been obvious for over a year: Libya’s post-Gaddafi state lacks the firepower to impose its will on an increasingly lawless country. The Italian consulate in Benghazi was attacked in January, the French embassy in April, the EU ambassador’s convoy in August, and Russia’s embassy last week. And those are just the foreign targets. "

As always, the incompetent Obama administration has made things worse here. Much worse. And by doing such, terrorist organizations around the globe are much better off.

Qaddaffi was the best leader on the African continent and we took him out to the detriment of the Libyan people. Qui bono? Once again the OIL universe will profit long term. Create instability and sell more weapons, eh? We have an oversupply of morons in our Intelligence and State Departments.

Do you have an explanation?

Wait a second, first we did support the transitional government, and that meant Obama was bad because of elements of al Qaeda involvement.

Now, Obama's bad for not supporting them ENOUGH?

Let's hope he can keep a lid on the militias back home.

The OP reaches the exact opposite conclusion that the facts support. Obama wisely stayed out of this civil war. Bush and his conservative interventionists would have deployed troops and we'd now be smack dab in the middle of another nation building fiasco like Iraq.

Thank God Obama rejected the agitprop of conservatives to get involved.

All nations should just abandon their embassies and consulates and allow them to eradicate themselves... Let Libya be the Armageddon for radical Islam vs the world....

Don't....don't look for consistency in these people.

There is no "we" or "us" that's the difference between progressives and non-progressives - you're collectivists in complete cohesion and we're individuals with individual ideas.. Remember it's the progressive republicans that want us in Libya..

There is no point in an intervention in Libya because both sides (all sides now) hate the US..

LOL. Twist, squirm, wiggle.....

Obama created the mess and then walks away. He really is the master of disaster. Maybe next time he will think about who he is supporting before he overthrows a government. Oh wait, that thing in Syria is still brewing....

More pure comedy. Or just a failed comedy act?

Yes sirree Bob, Obama had nothing to do, nothing at all to do with this disaster that was created in Libya.

LOL. He did it but didn't do it. LOL. Five year olds can come up with better stories than that.

Naw, naw. No "consistency in these people". LOL.

"These people" knew better than to create a disaster for Libya to begin with. Obamas plan had disaster written all over it from the start. Nothings changed.

So now he's bad for supporting them, but in your OP he's bad for not supporting him.

The one twisting here is you. Did you even read the article, or is it one of those "This is vaguely critical of Obama, therefore it must be right" things? The article also states that the war in Iraq was won in 2003 :lamo. Yeah, that's why we can't get out because we won 10 years ago. :lamo

We should have left Gadafi in power, he was a good guy....(that sound you hear is Reagan's corpse flipping over). We should never have supported them, we need troops on the ground...make up your mind.

My mind was made up on this issue before Obama got involved in this disaster. But in the words of Colin Powell (a big time Obama supporter) "You break it, you own it". Obama owns it.
