Corporations have become the state they are now, because the U.S legal system, and the U.S surpreme courts gave corporations they same legal rights as a person, and made their sole legal responsibility to make profits for their shareholders.
That is why corporations bastardise many things because law makers gave them those powers. This is not an example of capitalism, but rather cronyism, and corruption.
I believe that capitalism could be improved, by taking away corporation legal right as a legal citizin. And secondly to mandate that corporations are bound to make profit for their shareholders, but that corporations must abide and follow legal requirements that protect stakeholders.
We are in the situation that we see, not due to capitalism, but rather corporate law.:ranton:
