The CBS Evening News described Ken Starr as the "Republican" independent counsel.

When discussing Ronnie Earle on Wednesday night, the Texas county prosecutor behind the indictment of Tom DeLay, they suddenly failed to see the relevance of him being a Democrat. Anchor Bob Schieffer twice described DeLay not by his title as House Majority Leader, but as the "House Republican Leader."

I can't believe it, I'm outraged!!! Slander! Lies!! This is a new low for the liberal media! What self-respecting, god-fearing, red-blooded American would dare to sink to such a level!?!?!? Calling the House Majority Leader......*gasp,* a REPUBLICAN!!!! For god's sake, there are children watching!!!!! This outrage has gone too far! I demand the FCC emasculate all these activist newchannels! Fire up the photocopier, it's time to break out the petitions!!

That's pretty good B.S. Welcome to debate politics.

He does have a point in proving that the media is biased! To be an unbiased news station, they should have used House Majority leader, not House Republican Leader! Though small it may be, impact can be huge to someone with a little common sense and no knowledge fact on politics! Though this may seem a little far out there but it is relivent!

I just wish that there was an independent media outlet. Yes many TV news outlets are liberal. Fox is conservative. Talk radio is mostly conservative. I have to watch both and decipher the truth somewhere in between the two opposing biases.

What liberal media, would you please tell me where to find it. I am looking for the truth and it is not coming from fox or cnn. Just Bushshit lies.

I agree, revoke the Citizenship of the treasonous anti American rabble and the whole Right Wing could go live in Mexico with Vicente Fox.

One episode of a show hardly proves media bias. It could be used as a tiny portion of evidence. The 24 hour news stations (MSNBC, CNN and Fox) have constantly said things like "Democrat Ronnie Earle" and other similar phrases. Why aren't the conservatives pointing those out to show the conservative bias?

And to prove my point that no media should be biased! But look in the other thread to find that out.. I was just throwing my two cents in!

Im sorry but you are a straight up idiot! Revieling statements like your last sentence is very unamerican. This is part of what america is about, freedom: to express values which you consider to be right! Since you consider Right-wing individuals to be treasonous and anti-american and that they should go like in mexico, I say you join them becuase you yourself are anti-american!

Here's one they do all the time: They'll say "The National Organization for Women" or "The Urban League" without the liberal qualifier, but then they say "The conservative American Enterprise Institute" or "The conservative Heritage Foundation".

Who is "they"? If "they" do it all the time, can you provide an actual example?

And can you explain why the corporate media would have a liberal bias? And while you're at it, please define "liberal."

FYI, you're going to need more than anecdotal evidence of the use of adjectives to prove any kind of bias.

Ha ha ha, I just quoted the previous right wing babble. they were the ones that said Liiberals should leave the country. I believe it is the neo conservative anti Americans that should leave america. all they want to do is tell everyone how to think, destroy the Bill of Rights, start little wars for the profit of Big business, and tell us which church is the good one. To believe a neoconservative when he is speaking spin tis to believe liars and decievers. Why do you Neo Conservatives lie so darn much? It might be a curable disease. Maybe some special hormones will turn neo conservatiives back into Americans.

Dude, you're just being ridiculous now. What's the majority party right now in the house? The republicans, and thus right now the words republican and majority are synonymous.
And has Ken Starr ever denied being a republican? And also, his bias is part of the story, so ignoring that bias would just be crappy reporting.
Tom DeLay is a republican, and he's bot ashamed of it, so how exactly does referring to him as such prove bias?

I think you guys need to stop taking shots in the dark and admit you're all just paranoid schizophrenics.

I did not necessarily say i agreed with him but i said he had a point!

Some current headlines:

• DeLay seeks new judge in money-laundering case | WATCH
• Rice: Syria must be held accountable in killing | WATCH

FoxNews.com:
DeLay Wants Different Judge
Jurist assigned to ex-House majority leader's trial active Democrat; arraignment postponed

What bias does CNN show? Why didn't you cite the time CNN didn't mention party? Why didn't you mention the time Fox did?

Because it doesn't suit your agenda?

Current headlines:

CNN:
• DeLay lawyer, judge spar over mug shot T-shirt |

Fox News:
Bush: Deal With Syria - President calls for U.N. session on report

Push for New Judge - Jurist assigned to Tom DeLay's trial a Democrat; arraignment postponed

Fox news scares the hell out of the liberal dominated media. All of a sudden they are pushing fairness, without admitting they were ever biased. Fox beats the hell out of the liberal stations in rateings often. They seem much more atuned to the viewers.

That's because it's entertainment, not news. Most people don't want the actual news, they want to be pandered to.

I dont get why this one is news, the judge has to have some kind of politcal affiliation...... :doh

Maybe he's waiting for a judge that he helped into the bench.

I admit that Fox is a Republican network, but do you dispute the assertion that ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, NYT, USA Today, Time, Newsweek and US News are partisan in favor of the Democrats?

Time has always been Leftwing-when I was a senior in HS, we had to get both Time and US News and World Report since our teacher thought they balanced each other out. Newsweek used to be in the center but is now clearly a DNC supporter, I still find US News fairly even handed. USA Today is hard to say-when Karin Jurgenson (Sp) was the editorial page editor it was among the most anti gun papers in the USA. they tend to have more leftwing columnists-some like Dwayne Wickham (sp) is your classic far left racialist but they have a fair amount of conservative opinion writers as well

I doubt the organizations themselves are, but the vast majority of their reporters are. That's why they're not blatant, flat-out propaganda like Fox is, but instead have a persvasive and constant, but mild, pull to the left. They don't come right out and advocate views and positions as party of their platform, but the bias of the individuals working there will always creep through.

At least that's my take on it. Either way, it's why I don't bother with TV "News".

Oh, and I haven't watched TV news in years, so if it's changed lately, I wouldn't know. It's all crap, either way. Airtime is too expensive to do real news.

You are positively correct; & the liberal media using labels has ALWAYS been the standard operating procedure, ...along of course with their democratic party bedfellows!

51% of Americans believe in Creationism. American test scores are among the lowest in the world. Fox is attuned to the dumbing down of America. Ratings don't say anything about verity. They say everything about our culture.
