So I am watching The Daily Show last night, and like so many times, Jon Stewart starts doing a bit about a subject I have been bothered by as well. It's funny, not funny Ha, Ha, but funny as in peculiar, but why do I have to go to The Daily Show to actually see something the so-called Liberal media should be doing-----I mean, if they were so Liberal. I could be wrong, and Lord knows I have been wrong before, but it seems that the only time a certain portion of the populace believes the Media, is when they are reporting how Liberal they are.

I realize Stewart is a Comedian, but sometimes he is so dead on, he gives hope to those who see things in a slightly different paradigm. Anyway, Stewart brings up the the Rumsfeld "Heckler", because if you question the Administration, you are a "Heckler". Then he goes on to explain that instead of concentrating on the question, and Rumsfeld's previous answers on Meet the Press, the Media concentrated on McGovern's Left-Wing Radical Leanings. They then go into a series of quick video clips of interviews with all the TV Talking Heads, and it's all about his positions, his nut-ball stances, the typical, and what has become a very common tactic, that seems to be used when anyone with any significant credentials questions the Administration's motives----Attack the Messenger.

Are there Liberals in the Media? Yes, and they are truly a very poorly represented bunch. I am more concerned with the Business Guys who control the message from upstairs. I know this, with the skeletons in my closet, if they wanted too, they could make me look pathetic too. And I bet that goes for about three quarters of us here as well.

Stewart is very good and often dead on, as he was last night. Fox's fluff propaganda piece on Rumsfeld didn't ask any of the tough question. And the media really has mostly avoided asking the tough questions since this started. For profit ews has really hurt this country and we need a more focused and determined news source because it is a shame that a comedian should be this far ahead of real jounalists.

You mean like this?

Ray McGovern is a straight up, no joke, cracked-out lunatic.

Even if he is, what does that have to do with the question asked during an 'open mike' Q&A session.

Deflect and/or smear. :(

They didn't mention it, the only honest network was Fox, and yes, I would like to know that a former CIA agents think the president is going to create another 9/11 to raise his poll numbers. I'm sorry, it's important to know about the history of nuts like this, so I can say, "hey, this guy is nuts, he's not worth my time"

And I am all for the removal of Rummy.

Actually. saying such shows Fox's bias. It isn't important all to the story and doesn't change whether Rumsfeld lied or not. What it is actually is what is called a red herring. It distracts the audience from the question being asked, the one Rumsfeld really can't answer. So, if Fox can distract the viewer, Rumsfeld looks better. The real question is why would a news agency do this?

Using the term "liberal media" is the right-wingers way of avoiding dealing with the truth. See, as long as they watch Fox news and declare any half-assed attempts at truth as "liberal media" they can continue to believe that they did the right thing by supporting a President who lied to invade Iraq. And they don't have to accept the fact that hundreds....thousands of young US soldiers have died as a result. See, when you have blood on your hands, if you wash it off you have to admit it was there. Sometimes, its more comfortable to not look and pretend that it doesn't exist...maybe even wear gloves to hide it sometimes.

Saying the media isn't liberal is like saying the world is flat.
