I understand, but still maintain that for many neither is a choice. Yes, folks raised in certain religions do have access to outside info, increased options for choice. But humans are notorious for choosing the familiar. However, must be noted that the choice options for those who have the genetic compulsion towards homosexuality have a greater range of choices than you list. As we have seen many do indeed never go to the behavior, but instead live as heterosexuals (especially women).

There is no demand here, we were talking about the choices for both religion and sexual orientation and how they can be equally forced.

My main objection to ENDA has to do with the legimization of all sexual "orientations".

It's pretty much a demand when you say "Don't come out or we'll fire you." Even without ENDA, given the choice between a life of repression and a slightly smaller employment opportunity, that's really a no brainer. With faith, you can't go wrong because no matter what you settle on, you're likely to be happy with it (as well as not legally fired).

I don't know what you mean by legitimate. Homosexuality is going to continue existing either way. Whether the congress passes it doesn't have any impact on that.

IMHO.... ENDA became an inevitability as soon as "DADT" was repealed.

I am not making this an absolute as you seem to. I'll reiterate - many who are brought up from birth in this or that religion it is no more a choice than homosexual behavior is.

I'll go further to say, belief in God and adherence to a religion is as deeply influenced by how one is raised as the choice one makes to engage in homosexual behavior is influenced by genetics.

Still not answered is the objection to this amendment because it requires hiring and continued employment of pedophiles in all sectors of American life. With this amendment in force it would be illegal to fire a professed pedophile who works as an elementary school teacher.
