I'll be sure to inform my LGBTQ family members that their community is fracturing. So the reason the LGBT community exists is because it started back when people were ostracized for being gay lesbian bisexual or transgender. The idea was if we're kicked out of our families and communities will just form a community with each other.
In my lifetime I've seen quite a radical shift when I would have never expected. Wide acceptance of lesbian gay bisexual and transgender people to the point where there's no need for an LGBT community anymore. They are just part of the communities that they live in or share values with.
So as a result this community that to some extent exists still but is coming apart at the seams a little bit is attempting to preserve itself. They're always be family that disowns members of their family because they're lesbian or transsexual. But is time moves on within our culture this is becoming less and less common.
As a result we see LGBT attempting to expand and get other people under its umbrella. This is why they're expanding to include kink which has nothing to do with being LGBT there's straight people that can be into kinks and there's gays and transsexuals that can be totally vanilla. I imagine swingers might soon become part of it, that's why you see people that claim to be queers for Palestine. I have two friends that served in the Middle East and encountered boys as young as 13 being viciously attacked for being gay. So there is not any queers for Palestine there is queers for a current thing
That's why we have people that say they're queer because they're not really LGBT this may be the category swingers step into. That's why you see an attempt to include intersex to people which I'm not sure how they feel about that. Two Spirit which is really a Canadian tribal thing that's really misunderstood. And one I haven't heard about in a while that seem to just disappeared is pansexual. This was a person that was bisexual but also would be with anybody of any gender identity.
To me feel like you're losing this tight-knit group of people that really kind of had to rely on each other but you're not you still have that and whatever community you live in it's just not tied to your sexual orientation or gender identity and it isn't that the goal. To just be thought of as a normal person.
Did such a community ever really exist? I have heard that gay men and lesbians, for example, have never really been on friendly terms.I'll be sure to inform my LGBTQ family members that their community is fracturing.
Thanks for this update.

First to think that anyone who flies the banner LGBT represents all gay people of all lesbian people all bisexuals and all transgenders is like suggesting anyone who flies the banner of Christianity represents all Christians.
I honestly don't identify with LGBT I am a homosexual there is no h. To me my sexual identity doesn't really have anything to do with anything else but who I choose to have a partnership with.
Well the transgender ideology targets gay people. It is erasing them.
Not only are they the worst thing we could imagine from the LGBT side of things they are the worst thing we can imagine from the conversion therapy side of things.
I'm wondering if this transgender thing isn't just an effort to eliminate gay people
I don't see myself as anti-trans.
I would argue a lot of trans people are demanding conversation therapy particularly for lesbians because they don't want to be with a male regardless of how they identify.
So within the LGBT there is a civil war.
Well it's a social movement not a community.

I agree with much of what you say, I'm a gay man too. But calling us a community might be leading people to think we are monolithic. It isn't really a community outside of "gayborhoods". We're really all just sexual minorities and belong to multiple different communities.
It's not unified it's fracturing.Speaking of the opinions of @CLAX1911 on the "community" "unity" :
In a loose sort of way yes.Did such a community ever really exist?
I'm not sure about that one I've never had any issues with lesbians.I have heard that gay men and lesbians, for example, have never really been on friendly terms.
You're part of it look what you just typed you're talking about a different community the LGBTQ community I was talking about the LGBT.I'll be sure to inform my LGBTQ family members that their community is fracturing.
Pay attention. You're part of the fracturingThanks for this update.

I have a self-respect the only person I had to fight for that was me. Nobody on the planet is able to give me any self-respect.The moment you stop fighting for your respect and standing is the moment others start taking it away from you.
You will always have to keep fighting to be recognized as a person of equal standing in spite of what others feel about your sexuality, in much the same way that people of color, women, the disabled, and other marginalized groups will always have to continue fighting for their recognition.
Its been a solidarity on necessity at times.Did such a community ever really exist? I have heard that gay men and lesbians, for example, have never really been on friendly terms.
This method isnt how societal change happens.I have a self-respect the only person I had to fight for that was me. Nobody on the planet is able to give me any self-respect.
Self-respective of course being when you respect yourself.
So it's an endless fight until time stops? Why?

Or perhaps this is just your own personal opinionSo the reason the LGBT community exists is because it started back when people were ostracized for being gay lesbian bisexual or transgender. The idea was if we're kicked out of our families and communities will just form a community with each other.

Your ideas are part of the fracturing because you support the conservative culture wars. Your the person in the past who opposed anything but LGB in the gay community, so why should anyone care about your bleatings now? You have said intersex people dont exist. That trans people because they share nothing with gays, lesbians and bisexuals so they are not welcome and that non-binary doesn't mean anything because its is just something you say about yourself. You have been very openly bigoted toward others and the fight for freedom and equal rights for the LGBTQ community. You're part of it look what you just typed you're talking about a different community the LGBTQ community I was talking about the LGBT.
You have to tack on the street people that call themselves queer to boost the community.
Pay attention. You're part of the fracturing
CLAX has openly sided with the conservative social war attacking other groups of the LGBTQ people and now he is worried that the community is fracturing, mostly because of his own actions and those like him. He failed to see the long term implications of being bigoted towards other members of the community but now he is worried about the effects of his own actions but still he fails to see how his own actions played a critical role in that fracturing of this community.Per usual, someone expresses an opinion that doesn't comply with liberal/progressive doctrine and they immediately get dog piled.
I don't know anything about the "gay community" but it's pretty ****ing sad that even THAT discussion, at least around here, is tainted by politics.
Right. Like I said, around here it's ALL political.CLAX has openly sided with the conservative social war attacking other groups of the LGBTQ people and now he is worried that the community is fracturing, mostly because of his own actions and those like him. He failed to see the long term implications of being bigoted towards other members of the community but now he is worried about the effects of his own actions but still he fails to see how his own actions played a critical role in that fracturing of the community.
Clueless is a move. Its not supposed to be a lifestyle.
He is attacking other members of the community when he supports the conservative social war against the LGBT community. There is a long term effect of those actions. The conservative social wear and those who support it,especially those who are part of the LGBTQ community are the problem. Why should anyone respect them when they are the ones causing problems and even the very safety of others when they attack the community they are part of?Right. Like I said, around here it's ALL political.
The lack of respect for people based EXCLUSIVELY on political lean just sucks but it's where we are on this forum and on a lot of the streets in America.
Right. You can't support conservative issues and also be a member of the LGBT community. We all get that and with that understanding the whole idea that the community is in any way fractured is proved false! He is attacking other members of the community when he supports the conservative social war against the LGBT community. There is a long term effect of those actions. The conservative social wear and those who support it,especially those who are part of the LGBTQ community are the problem. He is attacking other members of the community as part of the GOP social war and then he has the audacity to claim the community is fracturing, mostly because of his own attacks and those like him toward other members of the community that he is part of. If he wants to see what the problem is then he only needs to look in the mirror.Right. You can't support conservative issues and also be a member of the LGBT community. We all get that and with that understanding the whole idea that the community is in any way fractured is proved false!
OK. I get it. You don't need to prove that being LGBT is FAR more a political issue than it is a lifestyle issue. You have made the point more than adequately. He is attacking other members of the community as part of the GOP social war and then he has the audacity to claim the community is fracturing, mostly because of his own attacks and those like him toward other members of the community that he is part of. If he wants to see what the problem is then he only needs to look in the mirror.
Being a LGBTQ conservative/republican during the current political climate is an oxymoron.
What are you trying to say? Being LGBTQ is who a person is. Its not a choice or a lifestyle. The GOP have made it a political issue for the past 60 years since Stonewall with their various social wars attacking gay men, lesbian, bisexuals and now trans people.OK. I get it. You don't need to prove that being LGBT is FAR more a political issue than it is a lifestyle issue. You have made the point more than adequately.
Pride was a riot and was political. Just the way things are.Per usual, someone expresses an opinion that doesn't comply with liberal/progressive doctrine and they immediately get dog piled.
I don't know anything about the "gay community" but it's pretty ****ing sad that even THAT discussion, at least around here, is tainted by politics.
Why are you so spiteful towards those who's opinions differ from yours? Is it because you think that you have a monopoly of virtue?Your ideas are part of the fracturing because you support the conservative culture wars. Your the person in the past who opposed anything but LGB in the gay community, so why should anyone care about your bleatings now? You have said intersex people dont exist.
