Let's say the gop wins both the house and senate. With the majority what do you want to see your representatives do for the american people?

We were absolutely energy independent in 2019 if you understand the term "energy independence" You seem to be making it up as you go along. As for still importing oil, we also still import automobiles. Does not mean we are not capable of supplying all of our own.

That's a dumb attempt at sarcasm. The oil industry like all other industries are to a point regulated. Having their backs simply means not fighting against them. Not sure how you are equating drilling leases on federal lands as socialism. The leases are not free. The oil companies pay for them just as they do on privately owned lands, And many of the best drilling sites are on federal lands, however it is still a gamble. When Joe Biden of cognitive decline came into office and immediately stopped drilling leases and permits on federal lands, it does not give the oil companies confidence that the government supports them in producing enough oil to regain energy independence.
I see, I have to understand what the term energy independence means. I thought it meant we produced all the energy we needed right here in the u.s.a.?

This might help you to understand 'energy independence' is just a phrase, it does not mean literally.

As for the oil companies, use the leases they have, simple.

You are going to have to do better then an ultra leftwing site like factcheck.org. Perhaps this will help:

U.S. energy production in 2019 was higher than U.S. energy consumption for the first time in 62 years. Thus, the U.S. attained the long-held goal of “energy independence”—which is not to say that we did not import or export energy, but that we produced more energy than we used.
