Less educated voters tend to go for Trump. Why is that?

Biden consistently polls better with college educated voters while the less educated voters tend toward trump. I just don't get it. Why would anyone have to have a college degree to see just what a disaster this President is?? Seriously.

Boxedin, to seriously answer your question, I think that's a useless statistic, and it's used mainly for political purposes by candidates who seek to make it look like they are the "intelligent person's choice."

In full disclosure, I have only a high school education. (I was offered a job out of high school, so I put off college, but I do plan to get a degree on-line at some point.)

Because people with less education generally have to work longer hours to break even, and have less time to spend looking into issues.
They don't have the time to be critical, and a significant percentage have become convinced that Trump and the various organizations that do propaganda for him are right.

People without college lean racist, xenophobic, ultra-religious and fact-ignorant. Trump's base.

How about you find out the statistics of the average IQ for all Trump voters v Biden voters?

The entire premise of this thread is that college educated Americans are on a higher level than non-college educated Americans.

This sort of pretentiousness is the most important reason I am frightened of having the Washington elite back in control of a Biden presidency.

Education and IQ quite often have very little do to with each other. However, proper education give the skills of being able to evaluation information better.

Really? Didn’t help your English lmfao

Does the phrase "educated idiot" ring a bell?

Why is it considered acceptable, though, for liberals to demean those who they perceive as having a lower IQ? While not acceptable to demean those with a different skin color?

That's a truthful take, Mark, and I agree. However, we need to remember that those same people also look at the propaganda that the other side puts out. Therefore, both sides have an equal chance at getting those people's support. But I still think what you said makes sense.

No, they don't have an equal chance.

With the way social media works, and people not watching TV as much, it's entirely possible that they're mostly exposed to things they agree with that reinforce their beliefs.

The fact you can't understand something is not an issue with my English. It has to do with the ability to evaluate information.

I understood you alright, but your English is terrible. Quite hilarious how the leftist D’s on here bitch at the Euro posters for their English. Pathetic, back to your post, having a college degree most certainly does not make someone evaluate information better! That’s pure made up horseshit

I would prefer to have a conversation with a well-informed, high school drop out, then a low information PhD graduate voter.

Loss of Social Standing.

So union, fast food restaurant employees, cooks, military, construction, carpenters, mechanics, nursing home health aides, cashiers, painters, stock clerks, welders and maids tend to be racists and fact-ignorant? How about low-income families living in government funded housing?

I used to think highly-educated lawyers were pretty smart--until I heard so many of them say rather stupid things as political pundits on TV. I'm now convinced that it must not take very much intelligence to get a law degree.

(My sincere apologies to anyone here who has such a degree.)

As an engineering grad, I saw dozens of people drop out of Eng school to go pre-law. Key weed-out courses were Chemistry, Physics and Calculus. I ran into these "kids" again in classes I took for easy A's as electives. Tells me all I need to know.

Lawyers are specialists.
Usually even within that field, there are specialists in various general areas of law.

Like any specialists, they aren't trained and don't have much experience (after they get some) outside their specialty, unless that experience is gained through the needs of their job.

Cal, if you have an engineering degree, my respect for you just went several notches higher. I, too, know some people who tried engineering in college and changed their majors because of how tough it was. I have two relatives who stuck it out (one has a doctor's degree) and they are two of the nicest people I know.

It is not that simple. First of all, look at how long they have been registered to vote. High school graduates know as much about American government as they were taught in social studies classes. One government class in 12th grade is not enough to study everything a registered voter needs to know to make informed decisions on Election Day. Second, because most of them just turned 18 a few weeks or months ago, it is unlikely they were all very interested in national and world politics beyond what directly affects their own lives. At four-year colleges, many students have too much to do to follow politics unless they are very serious about the subject. The Dallas Morning Star explained this problem in February, saying most college students support Bernie Sanders, but are so busy at school they do not know anything about the political landscape. That was the reason Joe Biden won Texas. So college graduates are the people most likely to pay close attention to politics and be educated about the Donald Trump administration.
