Leonard Cohen's Estate Denied Permission To Use, "Hallelujah" At RNC. Considering Legal Action

If I'm not mistaken, this isn't the first time Trump has use artist's songs without their permission. What is it now with the Trump Mob, 'whatever Donnie wants, Donnie gets'? The Trump Klan just says f*** you to everyone?

Leonard Cohen’s Estate Slams GOP For Using ‘Hallelujah’ At RNC

The legendary singer’s estate said it had specifically denied permission to use the song and was considering legal action.

LOS ANGELES, Aug 28 (Reuters) - The estate of Leonard Cohen said on Friday it was considering legal action over the use of the Canadian singer’s “Hallelujah” at the Republican National Convention (RNC), calling it a brazen attempt to politicize the song.

A recording of “Hallelujah” by Tori Kelly was played during a fireworks display on Thursday night that followed President Donald Trump’s acceptance speech for the Republican nomination.

A second, more operatic version, was performed on camera by American tenor Christopher Macchio.

Cohen’s estate said in a statement that it was “surprised and dismayed” the song had been used, saying it had specifically denied the RNC’s request to do so.

No, nobody gives a crap about this topic. This will not change one vote and does not even qualify as a footnote to history.

Everyone knows that trump owns the rights to everything. Just ask him.

This seems routine. I feel like this is one in a long series of artists that have been mad that Trump used their music. People don't want to be associated with a racist pig.

What the hell are you babbling about? Trump has used many artists songs without their permission and they have object to his using them, since he's a racist, unpatriotic traitor.

Why the hell are you babbling about history and changing votes? :screwy

Exactly, I just posted a link above that shows around 20 of them. I don't blame them one bit, I wouldn't want that nasty scumbag casting a dark shadow on my musical work, that's for sure!

About your pointless OP message that no one cares about, won't change anything, and no one will remember. Who cares if the "estate" of the old white Canadian Leonard Cohen prefers the old white racist and segregationist Joe Biden?

The Japanese company, Sony, doesn't like Donald Trump. All foreign companies want Biden because Biden opposes tariffs on imports and supports tariffs on outgoing American made products. You'd maybe be a happier person if you moved to Japan.

You do know Leonard Cohen is dead, don't you? :2razz:
