Lawmakers want brochure about cancer vaccine created

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -- As lawmakers prepare to debate an override of the governor's order that schoolgirls be inoculated against the virus that causes cervical cancer, a group of legislators wants the state to produce a brochure about the vaccine.

"We want families to know the facts," said state Rep. Dennis Bonnen, a Republican. "No one here is against a family studying the facts for themselves and deciding this is the right thing to do. ... What we don't want to do is tell them that we know better than them."

DUH, MORONS - Isn't that one of the prelimary items to make available to the public?

Moreover, the vaccine is being given to girls, and the prevention is sought for girls, while the source is within boys. Why not vaccinate boys?

In the military they brought us in for Plague I and Plague II vaccines. What the hell was that?

Doesn't make any sense to me. There are no brochures for polio and the other mandated vaccines.

1) The "source" is not within boys, its an std. It can come from anyone
2) There is no vaccine/test for HPV in males, because it's too difficult to detect
3) HPV has little to no negative effect on males, but it can cause cervical cancer in women. Hence the reason why it's more important to protect women from it than men

Where are you getting this information?
The research in nauseating, but there seems to be plenty of negative effects in males.
Basic Summary for Human Papillomavirus
Signs of Human Papillomavirus

HPV is detected easier in women because of pap smear, but that has nothing to do with a vaccine. Thus, who said the vaccine will not work in males?
