Lee Corso is one of a kind. I've been watching CFB a long, long time. While his age has caught up with him over the past few years, he still had those vintage Corso moments.

I felt the same way about Beano Cook but to a lessor degree. When it comes to CFB, there wasn't anyone that matched Lee's love for the game.

His 'Gameday' picks will live in infamy. And those times when he picked the 'Mighty Bayou Bengals' and put on the LSU's mascot headgear (or sometimes helmet) will of course be life long memories. I would always hoop and holler. My kids could tell some stories lol....

In the heart of USC and UCLA country I would slide open the back door and holler out LSU!.

Today they say goodbye to Lee on ESPN gameday at 0800 CST.

You might want to check it out.

================================

On Saturday, Lee Corso will make his final appearance on College GameDay, the ESPN show he has worked for since its inception in 1987.

"As the days grow shorter and the leaves begin to turn, the arrival of fall brings with it the start of college football season. But this year, the season will see the departure of one of its biggest off-the-field institutions.

On Saturday, Lee Corso will make his final appearance on College GameDay, the ESPN show he has worked for since its inception in 1987. The growth of that program, and Corso’s starring role as ringmaster in the show’s traveling circus, echoes the rise of college football in the nearly four decades since it began."

Yeah, Lee's been in declining health for years. Didn't realize dude is 90! Aside from his Florida State Seminoles bias, he was usually good for a few chuckles.
