Larry Sabato Recants, Didn't Hear Allen

One of Virginia's best-known political analysts said he had never personally heard Sen. George Allen use racial epithets, despite saying on television a day earlier that the senator "did use the n-word."

And that's just the tip of the iceberg probably. Did you see this malarky?
Another Allen teammate recalls deer head incident
A former college football teammate of Sen. George Allen's has confirmed details of a controversial hunting trip in the early 1970s, during which Allen is alleged to have placed a severed deer head in a mailbox that he believed to be owned by a black family.

Now, I've been around deer and I'm having a hard time figuring out how a person can even get a deer's head inside of a mailbox. I wish we could just get back to the topics at hand and save the attacks for relevant issues.

If Newsmax reported it, it must be true. LMAO

Why didn't you cite what he actually said?

"George Beam, a nuclear engineering company manager who lives outside Lynchburg, Va., now says he can confirm parts of that story. Beam, who played football with Allen, said he remembers Lanahan, who is now deceased, describing the hunting trip with Allen and Shelton."

That is pure hearsay. How convienent the preson he "heard" it from is dead and can't be asked about it.

I haven't seen anything this shameful in a long time.

Yep, you'd do yourself well to read them more often, they are often on the forefront when reporting breaking news.

I saw him on TV and I noticed he was starting to waver on it. Too bad, I didn't agree with Sabato all the time but I respected him. For him to make such an alleagtion without ironclad evidence is shameful.

I didn't feel a need to cite it as I called it malarky* from the get-go.

(*Malarky is a polite term for bullsh!t).

I totally agree, there were other people on that hunting trip that said Allen never made those comments.......

Why can't the dems just get back on the issues...

I think the fact that it is pure hearsay is a keypoint. And the man he supposed heard it from can't confirm or deny because he is dead. The media should never have printed such baseless hearsay. It's reprehensible and unethical on thier part.
