LA immigration protests live updates: 700 Marines deployed to Los Angeles

Sure. Let me help you out:
“An open border is a border that enables free movement of people and often of goods between jurisdictions with no restrictions on movement and is lacking a border control. A border may be an open border due to intentional legislation allowing free movement of people across the border, or a border may be an open border due to a lack of legal controls, a lack of adequate enforcement or adequate supervision of the border. “
Your welcome. ;)
So why do you call it an open border when it clearly has border controls? Have you ever crossed a border into the US?

Because illegal immigrants came across our borders unvetted. And yes, I have indeed crossed a border into the US in several different places.

It was a job of local law enforcement. I'm not going to praise your jack boots.
the ones that sit back and allow the rioting/burning/looting/destruction ... the ones 2 hours late to help protect the ICE agents being attacked ?

lol

Unvetted? You mean they're not interviewed by border agents?
Were you 'vetted' when you crossed?
Listen. This is important. The vast majority of illegal immigrants in the US crossed the border legally.
I repeat- the vast majority of illegal immigrants in the US crossed the border legally.
At one crossing, San Ysidro, California, there's 20,000 pedestrian crossings every day, and 70,000 vehicles. Every day. One crossing. All legal.
They're coming to visit friends or family or shop at Winners or go to Disneyland. They arent illegal immigrants until they room-mate with three others and get jobs at the golf course or landscape contractor or day-labour agency.
And the tech industry is full of illegal immigrants. They came on student visas, and when they're about to graduate there's all these job fairs and recruitment drives run by people who don't care much about government paperwork when it comes to competing for talent.
All that 'open borders' claptrap is just bullshit rhetoric designed to make you and others like you angry. It doesn't mean a damned thing.

Like the Jan 6ers you love?
The Jan 6 rioters lit stuff on fire? Waved other nations flags?

And don't forget, many of those Jan 6 rioters sat in prison for 2-3 years....do you support that same treatment for these rioting folks?

In what other country would this be allowed? How many times do we need to see this rioting and looting repeated, before increasingly harsh measures begin to be taken?

Any thoughts?

The LAPD that is actually trained to handle riots?

Surely this is a national emergency demanding military intervention right away. Or, you know, a senseless escalation by an authoritarian president that needs a distraction and wants to start a war on liberal cities.

An illegal alien is a foreigner who has entered or resides in a Country unlawfully or without the Countries authorization.

Surly this is a national emergency demanding military intervention right away. Or, you know, a senseless escalation by an authoritarian president that needs a distraction and wants to start a war on liberal cities.
You would prefer to let LA get overrun by rioters?

I'm actually OK with that outcome, too. It's time they get what they think they've been wanting.

The guard was called out when rioters attacked federal officers and federal buildings. Where was the LAPD? The guard and Marines are there to protect federal property............so far. There's no way Trump would or should trust any city run by Glass and Newsome. The guard will probably stay for a while to support additional ICE activities. Don't like it? Too bad.

I don't think the LAPD was overrun to the point of needing a military intervention no.

Yes. Not to mention sacking the capitol
Care to respond to the second part of his question to you? Odd that you left that part out of your response. ;)

If they sack the capitol in an effort to overturn an election they definitely deserve some jail time.

Dear Leader pardoned them. Do you support that same treatment?

Anyone who is actually rioting, burning buildings and looting should be arrested and should face the full consequences of their actions. But this isn't a city wide emergency like back in '92. It's pockets of riots with most of the protests being peaceful. There's no need for the Marines yet.

That was not the question, as you are well aware. Care to try again? ;)

The LAPD chief had a different opinion.

There are 8000 LAPD, sending in untrained national guardsmen and marines doesn't seem like the right move even if they were overwhelmed.

The State of California has other police forces to help.

Rioting is already a crime if you weren't aware.

I thought you were wondering why the J6 folks spent so much time in jail though?

Did you see all the looting that took place last night?

Like I said, the chief of the LAPD already voiced his opinion. You don’t seem to want to discuss that, why?
