It's boiling in the Post Soviet space. Lukashenka has thus far been able to stay in power in Belarus despite long pro- democracy protests. In the Caucasus Armenia and Azerbaijan are fighting again. Meanwhile in Central Asia the pro Russian government are caving int to protests that erupted due to widepsread election fraud.

Kyrgyzstan election: Sunday's results annulled after mass protests

International observers have commented that the official results of the Parliamentary elections that would have granted President Jeenbekov's allies a majority were not credible. Protests erupted quickly and the protesters stormed several government buildings, and also the jail that held the former President Almazbek Atambayev and set him free. Kyrgyzstan has a history of voter fraud, authoritarianism but also of popular uprisings taking down governments. The Kyrgyz government has given in for now. But are they only playing for time or not? I guess we'll see.

Kyrgyzstan: 1 dead, hundreds wounded after protesters storm seat of government

About Kyrgyzstan, could be said from Kipling: North is North, South is South, and they will not come together. All conflicts there are absolutely insoluble - southerners against northerners. Who wins the election, begins to ruthlessly crush outsiders. For such countries independence is like death

Kyrgyzstan election: President Jeenbekov resigns after protests

So President Jeenbekov now resigned. So the Opposition won this one. Good that bloodshed could be averted. When it comes to foreign policy the Pro-Russian stance probably won't change. The new government consist of people who has been in charge before and was as Pro-Russian as the people they now replace. They will probably try to be less Russia aligned for a while and especially flirt with PRC, but just like before the bonds to Moscow are too strong to ignore.
