Ukraine pays Americans for lobbying its interests. It's no surprise and it shouldn't be blamed. Last year, the Business Insider stated this fact alright. Also, there are some documents in open sources related to the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA) and associated with both payments and names of the lobbyists hired every year by the Ukrainian government.

It's no problem when an ex-politician (Haley Barbour) or a no-hoper governmental lawyer (Edward M. Rogers jr.) try to recover their fallen fortunes this way making use of their huge life experience. A different situation is when a diplomatic person who's involved in the events and has extended international ties turns out to be a bribed politician.

The question is, does Mr. Volker really have such a miserable salary that he was obliged to dirty himself being hooked on Ukrainian pieces of silver? Obviously, the American taxpayers' money isn't enough for him since he's picked poor Ukrainians' pocket. I guess Ukrainians don't suspect what way is chosen by the local bosses to use the beggarly budget, and they will want to ask them a couple of questions.

But let the troubles of Ukraine belong to the Ukrainians. I'm more concerned with the aptitude to render commercial services, which can be used to accuse the USA of being biased, to the authorities of a country by a person who's responsible to represent the great American nation in that country. This looks like whoredom. We all know where the road paved with good intensions goes to. Because of the discrediting behavior it doesn't matter now how good was the Mr. Volker's deed of having lobbied the resolution on Holodomor. His venality caused the loss of his reputation within both American and international community. If this had happened in Japan, the guilty diplomat would have already apologized publicly, and would have killed himself to evade the shame. However, Mr. Volker isn't going to confess and keeps actively supporting his Ukrainian friends. It won't be a surprise for me if soon we hear of the problem of the starved to death Ukrainians being put forward by some buddy of the American representative in Ukraine during the UN Security Council meeting.

Holodomor happened. The USSR was responsible for much of the misery.
