Twelve anti-government activists, including some minors, have been arrested in Bahrain. This brings the total number to 28 since the beginning of this month. Protesters say the crackdown on their movement which started almost 3 years ago, has got worse in recent months. The result - new protests and more arrests every week - as Paula Slier reports.

The forgotten revolution in Bahrain, which just so happens to be an ally of the US, so thats probably the major reason why we dont hear it in our country (USA).

Maybe the people in Bahrain are not altogether excited of the prospect of allowing a Libya, Syria, Egypt kind of 'successful' revolution.

This justifies brute oppression and violation of human rights how?
I say if the people want democracy and to overturn the regime, more power to them and if it does turn out as bad as this scenario then let the people figure out how to deal with it.

See...when people attempt to overthrow your government...it tends to prompt what they call a 'reaction'....

Funny thing is...Bahrain is already a fairly MODERATE Muslim country. If they were trying that **** in a fundamentalist state they would already be dead.

I agree there is a reaction but for the west to ignore these say violations is ridiculous.

I wouldnt call them moderate at all with actions like this.

Ever been there?

Very moderate. Pretty easy going. But...yeah...resistant to revolution. I know its a ll a bit shocking. But...wait....you CANT mean THESE guys...right?

"Seventeen Shiite protesters had all been charged with attempted murder of police officers, taking part in an unauthorized demonstration and possessing petrol bombs, AFP reported. One of them was handed a three year prison sentence and four more were acquitted, while others were sentenced to 10 years behind bars."

Dood...did you even watch the videos? They showed the assholes lighting and launching molotov cocktails. They shouldnt be arrested, they should be shot.

Ever been there?
No i have not.

When you have a peaceful protest start and then it turns to violent crackdown i would not call that a "moderate" response.

1.)One must have a authorization for a protest, which is wrong
2.)Molotov cocktails are used all the time in protests

Dood. Yes. And know i dont believe in an authoritarian response to molotov cocktail throwing.

You make me giggle.

Its not FAIR. They should be able to violently attempt to overthrow a government and use gas bombs and assault police without consequence. Wah!

Geeeeeeeeeezus....
