Kim Jong Il looks to London to circumvent sanctions (1 Viewer)

If NK is reduced to selling off their gold in an attempt to get the money to prop up their regime for a little while longer, I'd say we're doing alright with the current sanctions.

RightatNYU,
With regard to North Korea, I would say that the NKs are running rings around the negotiators at the 6 party talks.
I believe we can rest assured that the NK leadership will not suffer unduly through the watered down sanctions that are imposed on that country.
The US has already told NK that it (the USA) will not invade NK. This was their biggest fear, having had that removed, they probably feel that to cede anything else is pointless.

They never have and never will be scared of us invading them, because there is absolutely no way that there will ever an invasion.

NK has 8,000 gun tubes buried along a mountain ridge, all pointed at Seoul, a metropolitan area of 23 million people. In the span of 20 minutes, they could kill 3-6 million people. Those tubes cannot be all destroyed by an airstrike or any other similar action.

That alone is enough "mutually assured destruction" that NK knows it never has to worry about us or any other nation engaging in a full scale assault.

That could happen if NK decides to actually use one of its missiles to attack Japan or America for instance.

Sadly...I'm pretty sure they would lose to the U.S. and our allies.
