Khan: You're welcome in londonistan city wants out of uk!

[QUd=MickeyW;1066001068]After the historic Brexit vote Thursday, London's new Muslim Mayor Sadiq Khan had a message for the nearly one million European citizens living in the United Kingdom's capital: "You are very welcome here."

Of course they are welcome. London runs on hired help. No foreigners => Less deals and business.
Nothing will change there.

Given the xenophobic spew from the leave camp, he needed to reassure people that they weren't about to be deported.

There is a building movement among some politicians from London for an independent London state. Would be logical, considering London did not want to leave the EU, so it is their right to be independent of the United Kingdom who do want out. The Scots want out too, and the Northern Irish are waking up to a serious problem... funny how maybe this will finally unite Ireland..

Yeah but both Scotland and N. Ireland have the advantages (should push come to shove) of being actual countries, however mysterious that label may appear to non UK people.

London is nothing of the sort.

London is double the size of Singapore and way more population... just saying.

Heard on NPR on this morning's commute that some of London's financial firms may bug out of London and move to Paris or Berlin, the other EU hubs of the financial sector. So maybe there will be some change, but I really do think that all the FUD about collapse is all over blown.

Those companies have already stated they would move more operations if Article 50 is started straight away (that's the negotiations to leave). Both Cameron (Remain) and Johnson (Brexit) have stated they would wait but the EU wants the article 50 process to start straight away (because of lure of bringing over the banks)

It might have changed, but there just aren't enough specialist in Paris or frankfurt and certainly not in Berlin.

Pretty much every large city in the world wants to be their own city state. Nothing new there.

Oh, sure. But with all the ministries there, Buck Palace and No. 10, I see a few points over which the gubmint might spike any city aspirations.

Just makes it easier to leave the UK :) Yea the Queen would have to decide which state she wants to live in, but that is her problem.
