Fisk said:Correctly, if a little late in the day, Federica Mogherini, the EU’s head of foreign policy, told parliamentarians that the destruction of Khan al-Ahmar “would also be a blow against the viability of the State of Palestine and against the very possibility of a two-state solution.” She noted that it’s almost impossible for Palestinians to obtain building permits in the West Bank’s Area C, thus placing the Israeli claim that the shepherds’ shacks had been constructed illegally in its own grim context. Area C is under total Israeli occupation and – so the Jewish settlers say – must be annexed at once. “C” comprises 60 per cent of the West Bank. Why on earth would the Israelis encourage anyone to stay in the land of the ever-expanding Jewish colonies?

That the Israeli courts can deem illegal the construction of the homes of a people they illegally occupy , settle and systematically abuse/deny rights to , i think , is staggering in its arrogance and contempt. As pointed out by residentAbu Yussef Abu Dahuk
" The settlement continues to be built and so they must move us out. Now we are not allowed to cross the valley behind us with our goats or the settlers will take our goats. We are not allowed to build proper homes and so we have to use these metal structures. The settlers can build a villa, with electricity and a water source and a garden – and for us in the winter, we can build nothing. "
He has been the victim of multiple Israeli evictions already and is under threat once again. Alternative sites after compulsory eviction are next to the rubbish dump of a nearby Arab village or another site near a sewerage plant.
The sickening way that this is being portrayed to the world as an act initiated out of concern for their well being ( living too near the road ) whilst an illegal settlement will surely make use of this newly acquired land is just stomach churning.
In area C , under full Israeli control , Palestinians are rarely if ever allowed the permits needed to make their housing constructions legal whilst throughout the West Bank thousands upon thousands of illegal settler homes are being built in complete violation of international law.
Even the sickening and useless EU has grown enough of a small pair and voted that the demolition of Khan al-Ahmar would be a serious violation and probably a war crime.............. and the Israeli government will no doubt quake in their boots at these stern words.
You ever driven by there? Might be helpful to get a sense of what the European propaganda efforts are really about to have the context of actually seeing a bunch of shacks made out of tarps and junk, with garbage strewn all along the side of the highway. There are being moved a few kilometres away. It’s not actually a big deal.
Maybe you think it's right that a court from another country doesn't allow people planning permission in their own.
Maybe you think it's right that Palestinian Arabs should just be moved around as and when Israel decides to expand an illegal settlement .
Maybe you believe the tripe that the Israeli courts are only concerned for their well being
You certainly believe that it's " no big deal " that a foreign court can impose eviction orders on the people of a different territory for them not having their permission to build in their own territory
And you , of course , would accept this if it were to befall you and would fully understand the people you decided to bleat to about it dismissing your pleas with " they're only moving you a few kilometres away next to the rubbish dump , it's no big deal so stop crying about it.
But , but it's the third time it's happened to me................... stop crying , it's no big deal............... you are , after all, only a Palestinian .
Yep I'm not surprised that you think it's no big deal and that there is nothing egregious , immoral or illegal in the ongoing bullying of the Palestinians in such ways by the Israeli state and those that choose to support its crimes
You been there or no?

Relevance to the subject matter of this thread ?................. zero
So much to discuss in the OP and yet you have more or less completely avoided it just to try to focus on the poster instead..............
You have already outlined your view that the eviction of Palestinians in their own territory by Israeli occupiers is " no big deal " . If you have nothing else to say about the material/themes in the OP no problem but where I have or have not been is not open to discussion nor relevant to the discussion
You say zero, but it's not. If you haven't seen it, you don't know what you are talking about.
It's just a small collection of random dangerous shacks in the desert, sitting next to a highway. You know here in Canada they also get to throw people out of their houses for a whole bunch of reasons, including wanting to build highways, right? Let alone that these structures would never, ever be certified and left standing in any other developed country.
All of this is just European colonialist meddling in the affairs of countries they have no business getting involved with. And they don't seem to care so much when it is millions of various ethnic minorities in China, do they? Or tens of thousands of descendants of Palestinians thrown out of Arab countries because their ancestors lived in Palestine for a few years? Just when the Jews are moving a handful of people out of tin shacks decorated with garbage off the side of a highway, lying and distorting the reality of it the entire time.
Funny that.
Ive seen it and if your trying to say that if you haven't been somewhere you cannot discuss it or anything about it because you cannot " know what youre talking about " well that's about as lame as it gets imo. How many times have you been to Gaza and yet you know , or claim to know , everything about it and it's people. Did you ever live in Nazi Germany ? No , but you know all about it , right ? No chance of you actually not " knowing what youre talking about " right ?
We have the net to see the pictures , we don't need your descriptions as we are not reliant on them.
If people get moved on in Canada for whatever reason by the Canadian government be sure they will be residing in Canada at the time. That you don't appear to understand the difference informs me a little about just what you know and/or think yourself and it ain't good.
As for the second part the sentiment is clear................ Jews deserve the land so as to do what Arabs can't or refuse to do with it........... develop it. Do you ever wonder why underdeveloped countries tend to remain underdeveloped ? Is it that brown people never quite evolved enough to make a go of things ?
" Colonialist meddling " in the affairs of other countries........and here you are defending the people of one country evicting people from their homes in a different country they are slowly but surely........... and you are having a go at anti imperialist Europeans ? :lamo............... that's not just funny it's completely bizarre and hilarious at the same time
So you know what you are talking about here? So describe it. What are the Europeans looking to protect with their agitation? What should be done to ensure safety and that people live with the necessary modern infrastructure?
And why do you care?
And what do the pictures show you? Shacks by the highway? Again, you care, why?
Not really. As you repeatedly point out the Jews are responsible for providing services etc to the Palestinians they occupy. One of those is to ensure they have safety and basic infrastructure and don't live in shantytowns right next to the highway.
And here in real life a 5 mile move isn't even a move between cities.
You think that, of course, because you support it. The Jews are indigenous in Israel. Might as well acknowledge reality and go from there chief.
