Kerry denounces use of energy as weapon
"BRUSSELS (AP) — U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry is denouncing the use of energy as a weapon, a day after Russia sharply hiked the price for natural gas to Ukraine.
Kerry says supplies of oil and gas have to be secured throughout the world in order to prevent their being used as political leverage or tools of aggression. He said no nation should be able to use energy to "stymie a people's aspirations."
Kerry spoke Wednesday at a meeting of the US-EU Energy Council at European Union headquarters in Brussels.
Russia also threatened to reclaim billions in previous discounts for Ukraine, raising the heat on its cash-strapped government. The move is expected to eventually hit Ukrainian consumers hard. Household gas prices in Ukraine are set to rise 50 percent beginning May 1."
Does this mean that since Putin was selling gas to Ukraine at 60% of World market, that the USA and IMF are going to sell Ukraine dollars at 60% of World market value?
Does this reflect an organized demonization of Russia/Putin? Putin was selling Ukraine discount energy.
Will Western Media co-operate in this demonization?
The Russian cheap gas was the only foreign effort to help Ukraine and should Russia be punished for helping Ukraine?
Is John Kerry a moron and just using the World Stage to prove it?
Is john Kerry promoting "Moronomics." or is he really that dumb?
Was cheap energy helping or hurting Ukraine?
The previous discount was part of a financial lifeline Russian President Vladimir Putin offered to former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovich after his decision to ditch a pact with the European Union in favour of closer ties with Moscow.
It's silly posturing by Kerry. The fact is that Ukraine depended on Russia for gas, and Russia discounted that gas for political reasons

That being the case, why would Russia continue discounting gas prices without the political benefits?

I'm quite sure if the USA/IMF sells the Ukraine dollars at sixty cents per each that Russia would sell gas again at sixty cents on the dollar of World Market value. It is the USA/IMF that are the bad guys in this scenario. Kerry's posturing is Moronomics and he has a world stage to flaunt his ignorance of economics, or so it would appear.
What's the purpose of a poll that is so skewed it only gives the choices you want it to? Come on you can do better than that!
Your post always have the same axe to grind as in America bad, bad, bad! Good grief man it's really getting old.

Well, let me see here Dave.
Hypothetical Hyperbole;
Two days ago, you were my friend, I own the gas station down on the corner from where we both live.
Yesterday, my dog got out of the yard, came over to your place and pissed on the tire of your beautiful chrome clad pickup truck. Then, you backed out of your driveway, and deliberately ran my poor dog down, killing him.
My wife came out of our house shocked that you would do such a thing, she shouted at you, and you shouted obscenities at her that I can't repeat in this forum.
Today, you stopped at my gas station, and bought 10 bucks worth of ethyl. When you approached the counter to pay, you handed me a 10, and I told you that your price now Dave, was 20, because of your personality, because you ran down our dog, and because you shouted obscenities at my wife.
See what happens when you end up being a bad neighbor? You pay through the ass.
I do understand many veterans, and hard core right wingers hate Kerry.
Hot dam y'all, ah swar. You've got the right talent to get a job with Kerry. Actually, I'm a Vietnam veteran and like John Kerry, but when moron beckons for recognition, it's only fitting to publicize it. He's angry because Putin was selling gas at sixty cents on the dollar. Friendly like, eh?
Putin just loves his neighbors, doesn't he?
That must be why there's 40,000 Russkie troops amassed at Ukraine's border, he wan't to make sure the Ukraine is nice, secure and safe.
I'd like to see a link and photographic proof about those 40,000 troops. You been into the Kool-Aid again. Ukrainian troops are massed on the Ukrainian side of the Russian border and Russians are worried some of the Stepan Bandera militias might be inside those tanks and some idiot will fire the cannon. Just like the Maidan snipers that the opposition used did. Russia had an exercise with 20,000 troops but it ended weeks ago.

You really need to cull your sources to limit the propaganda.
These foolish reporters went right along the border for 1,000 miles checking on the same thing you said.

Tour of Ukraine-Russia Border Finds No Signs of Military Buildup - NBC News
"Still, the stream of YouTube video clips and photos seemed to tell a different story: long convoys of Russian armored personnel carriers on a highway headed toward Ukraine; tanks and artillery pieces moving by rail on dozens of train cars; squads of MI-24 combat helicopters perched on a hill near Belgorod, only 20 miles from Ukraine. Are these preparations for a Chechnya-like invasion, or just more maneuvers meant to intimidate Ukrainians and the West?We went to look for ourselves. Cameraman Dmitry Solovyov, sound engineer Alexei Gordienko and I packed our bags, devices and news-gathering gadgets into the back of our grey, nondescript bureau minivan and began a journey along the 1,200 mile border between Russia and Ukraine – many segments of which give no indication that it’s an actual border between two countries.Sudzha, a small town in the region of Kursk, site of the biggest tank battle of World War II, was our first destination. A tank column had been spotted there, 5 miles from the border, about a week before. But as we drove around the quaint town – equally proud of its freshly painted Orthodox Church and its bronze statue of Vladimir Lenin – we saw no tanks, or even armored personnel carriers. We did see ATM machines on almost every block. All was quiet. There was no tension in the air. Outside town, farmers were planting winter wheat. We traveled some 500 miles along the border – sometimes right next to Ukraine, at other times 30 to 40 miles from it – before we came across any sign of military activity. As we passed Belgorod’s army base, near the airport, I recognized the same MI-24 choppers I’d seen on the Internet. We got lucky – a pair took off as we drove past. We turned back to see them banking within the base’s perimeter. Nearby, clusters of military vehicles, mostly heavy trucks, were out in the open, but where were the tanks and artillery?"
You're funny. Cull, that's another word most conservatives love to use, too funny.
Swallow the turd, bubby. You were wrong and proved wrong. Nothing more to say.
As there is absolutely no possible way for the U.S to supply enough natural gas to Ukraine, let alone the EU or even somehow ship it over there if we could the point is mute for the most part. Kerry can complain all he wants, and Russia will do as it pleases with it's own energy supplies.
The EU is over a barrel and it's friends can do nothing but watch.

Photographic proof? Unless you expect us to provide you with detailed geospatial data with ORBAT information we can't give you 'photographic' evidence of 40,000 soldiers. However we can give you details that have been universally reported with photos of Russian troops. I suspect you will dismiss these because we couldn't literally provide you with a photo with 40,000 Russian troops in it.

How many "I HATE AMERICA" threads is ultra-rightwing segregationist militiaman OPer going to start?
We got it, Dave. You really extra love Putin. We understand that you totally, completely hate the United States.
You're 5 decades too late for the 1960s.
The link from Post # 14 was a drive by investigative reporters to see if there was truth to the story of the massing of troops. Only on the Ukrainian side of the border, I'm afraid. It is an NBC story and a vehicle drive along the 1200 mile border. It is a blatant recognition that the stories of Russian troop massing is propaganda. Now you know the truth. Glad I could be of help. I know you don't want to be accused of ignorance.
Dave, do you always condescend others when they prove you wrong or have differences of opinions that you don't agree with? The link from Post # 14 was a drive by investigative reporters to see if there was truth to the story of the massing of troops. Like your reference to me drinking KOOL-AID ?
I mean, sheesh, can't you do better than that? That's not much of a debate.
