Democrats Suggest Double Standard on Leaks

Kerry, on ABC's "This Week," said, "Classification in Washington is a tool that is used to hide the truth from the American people." He added, "I'm glad she told the truth," but if McCarthy did it, she will have to face the consequences of breaking the law.

Then drawing a parallel to the Plame case, Kerry said that with McCarthy, "you have somebody being fired from the CIA for allegedly telling the truth, and you have no one fired from the White House for revealing a CIA agent in order to support a lie. That underscores what's really wrong in Washington, D.C."

1. The Democrats tried to sompare the Plame case with McCarthy's leaks.
A) The 'leak' in regards to Plame was 'exposing' a CIA desk agent's name. DC Reporters said that Plame's 'secret identity' was the worst kept secret in Washington, especially since her husband introduced her at DC Parties as his 'CIA wife'. Although the information was, at 1st, listed as classified, no crime of outing a Covert CIA agent was committed, as Plame did not meet the requirements for being a 'COVERT' agent. So the Plame case boils down to someone speaking out loud what everyone (All the 'Players') in Washington already knew - that Plame worked for the CIA!
B) The Democrats are trying to say that the 'damage' done in the Plame case equates to the National Security Damage done by McCarthy! NOT!
- As mentioned above, everyone in DC knew Plame worked for the CIA. HE!!, recently a news paper was able to tap into the names of EVERY CIA undercover operative, locate their 'secret' facilities and more via the Internet! THAT newspaper's digging did INFINTELY more damage than was done in the 'Plame case'. In fact, almost NO Damage was done in the plame Case.
- McCarthy exposed a classified Anti-Terrorist Program, that was/is completely legal, designed to counter and combat the very terrorists who killed Americans in their attack on this country on 9/11! The exposure of this program has stripped our goverment of one of its tools in fighting terrorism - it, in short, has aided and abetted the enemy! McCarthy, in turn, is guilty of committing treason by giving our enemy the knowledge about one of our tools to combat them!

Trying to compare McCarthy's treason to 'exposing' the poorly kept secret of Plame's employment with the CIA is a JOKE!

Kerry is completely right about a double standard regarding Leaks, however. In the Plame Case, Scooter libby was fired and faces jail time. In McCarthy's case, for her treason she has only lost her job. Kerry claims that what she has done is completely OK, as long as she was doing it to tell the truth! Of course he graciously says she still must face the consequences! FACE THE CONSEQUENCES? She committed treason, gave up classified info to Al Qaeda (which could be considered spying), and the only thing that has happpened to her is that she has been FIRED! She should be in freakin' SHACKLES! And the reporters? What punishment did they get for their part in this treason? PULITZERS!

What BULLSH!T! McCarthy exposed a LEGAL Procedure/Program being run by the President to combat terrorism because her pi$$-poor lack of judgement and ignorance told her it was the right thing to do. Had she checked with the justice Department or anyone with a clue about such legal matters, shw would have found out that it was well within Bush's right to conduct such operations! The only result of McCarthy leaking the CLASSIFIED program to the press is that it benefitted 2 people - the REPORTERS and the TERRORISTS!! While she is out of a job and the nation has just lost a tool to combat terrorism, the Reporters won a Pulitzer, and the Terrorists have been tipped off about what we were doing to catch and counter them!

'As long as they are doing it for truth...'....BS! The double standard is that the Dems want to cut Bush's head off for Plame getting press for what the press already knew...but will have to settle for Libby, while McCarthy, a Clinton/Berger bi-product/hold-over, gets nothing more than a pink slip for betraying her country through leaking REAL classified that has jeopardized/hurt our National Security!

Kerry is a bafoon, and his latest '2 Cents' about McCarthy and the :spin: on leaks he and his cronies try to put on it proves it!

The right answer would be to send a message by sending McCarthy to prison THEN go after the reporters for leaking information they knew was classified. In this case, the information they reported hurt national Security...and I would allow them to keep their pulitzers in their jail Cell if they wanted, but they would be punished as well!

How exactly did she strip the government of one of its tools? If it is legal, they can setup new ones. That is if any foreign government is willing to risk allowing them to do so. The only damage this lady did was tarnish our governments image.

I'm glad she brought this to the world's attention. It proves there are those within our government that aren't any better than the regimes they constantly rail about. Secret prisons, torture administered by foreign governments on our behalf, abductions! I suppose it is all good as long they don't start this crap here at home, right? Then again with the secretive nature of these programs. How do we know they aren't doing this at home.

Now that the fact that such a program exists, the terrorists will avoid making such calls and/or discussing anything over phone lines, genius! The element of surprise/secrecy is gone!

Great, another Liberal who is PRO Treason, Pro assisting Al Qaeda, and Anti-National Security!

Trying to convince Americans that this program that targeted terrorists was dangerous to Americans is just as bad as Hillary saying legislation that upholds criminal laws against ILLEGAL immigrants would target Soup Kitchen Workers and doctors who treat Illegals! Its just BS!

As I said, the only people who benefitted from McCarthy's spying and treason were the Reporters, who were rewarded with Pulitzers for their knowingly exposing classified info that hurt National Security, and the terrorists who were tipped off to this program designed to catch them in their planning to attack America.

Who are the losers here? McCarthy herself, National Security, the American people, and justice, a McCarthy is juts getting Fired instead of going to prison as she should!

So… you are saying it worse for a person to leak a procedure that was already known to be going on, when compared to potentially putting a CIA agents life at risk?

Putting a CIA Agent's Life at Risk? :rofl Which one would THAT be?

Plame's identity as a CIA Agent was put in risk, if it EVER was at risk, by her own husband who introduced her to politicians and reporters at Washington Functions as his 'CIA Wife'! Reporters, as i have pointed out already, in D.C. said it was a well-known 'secret' among D.C. reporters that Plame was a CIA Desk-jockey!

I am saying that comparing Plame's case with a HIGH Ranking CIA Officer who was caught spying for (which is what it equates to) Al Qaeda in exposing a classified project designed to target, counter, and defeat them is a JOKE! McCarthy aided an enemy of the U.S. by exposing a classified and TRULY secret program designed to help defeat Al Qaeda/terrorists!

HE!!, John. F. Kerry did more to put REAL undercover CIA operatives in jeopardy than anyone did with the Plame case. When grilling John Bolton in an attempt to defeat his nomination to take the position at the U.N., on several occassions John Kerry referred to a (then) currnet CIA Agent's real name instead of his code name. Bolton picked up on it right away and answered using the operative's code name. Kerry and 2 fellow DIMocrats did not pick up on Bolton's inflection and attempt to draw their attention to the fact that they were using the operative's real name. Kerry and these 2 geniuses continued to use the CIA agent's real name. It was reported that the CIA was forced to scramble to get the operative out of where he was, as using his real name had put his life at risk. As a result, the CIA lost an agent and an opportunity/Intel source they had spent much time and effort establishing! No one ever went after Kerry and his 2 moron buddies for jeopardizing that REAL covert agent's life!

Then I brought up the case recently where the reporter went on the freakin' internet and came up with a list of CIA operatives currently under cover, al ist of almost all current CIA personnel, a list of CIA 'secret' locations and facilities and more! THIS was infinitely more damaging than the Plame case!

The Plame case was a joke from Day 1 because hr own husband treated her identity with such reckless abandon, divulging her identity long before anyone else did.

McCarthy warning Al Qaeda about secret wire taps monitoring their activity is infinitely worse and amounts to treason! John Kerry coming out to say that, although she has to get her just rewards/punishment (since when is being fired JUSTICE or getting ones' just reward for treason and exposing classificed?), he had no problem with McCarthy exposing the information as far as it was for the truth, exposes him as a criminal who has no problem with treason and jeopardizing National Security. This should all come as no shock to Americans though who remember how he betrayed his country during Viet Nam by meeting with enemy leaders, while still in the military, in paris to discuss terms of surrender of his own country without being there officially for the U.S. He later acted as the Viet cong's agent by being one of the Reps to propose the plan before Congress!

So you didn't even bother reading about what information she leaked! Just so you know, she leaked about secret prisons in Europe, not the NSA spying.

You need to put this tired NSA "OMG, the terrorists know their phone calls MAY be monitored!" thing to bed. Terrorists are evil, not stupid. This is common criminal 101.

It has also been reported by 1 source that she is believed to be behind the Wire Tap leak as well.

As far as what the terrorists know or don't know, are you telling me that leaking the secret program's existence is OK because the terrorists are smart and probably suspected it was being done anyway? You sound like Kerry trying to justify treason and the crime of exposing classified information!

Since we're throwing accusations around, it seems like you are anti-UDHR, since you are supporting acts that are clearly in violation of it.

they can be pretty stupid too, when the left in America isnt helping them avoid detection.
