Just heard John Kasich say that "it's the 21st century and anything can happen." This was on CNN with Anderson Cooper, however. Seems like he's been talking about it a lot. Would be very, very interesting to see what he does.

In an interview with ABC's "This Week," Kasich entertained the possibility of winning the White House outright or making an independent bid that would "send a message that can disrupt the political system in this country."

Kasich stakes out 2020 third-party challenge: A spoiler for Trump or Democrats?

He'll be handing the race to Trump. Of course he has no chance of pulling any of Trump's base. I don't see him siphoning off the party faithful when they are afraid of losing the party's grip on the levers of power. All he's likely to get are a handful of never-trumpers and swing voters; maybe even some big-tent Dem factions and Bernie supporters - precisely the people who Clinton lost last time around. While they're busy 'voting their conscience' the much better organised and more homogeneous GOP base will sweep it.

Unless the Dems can put in someone much more charismatic and there's this massive youth turnout.

I would think he would pull more republican votes than democrat. Can't be the republican nominee, too reasonable.

The hard thing for everyone at this point except on the Democratic side is waiting on Mueller's report. Who the heck can guess what the landscape in 2020 looks like till then?

Not to be forgotten but once upon a politician John Kasich { they guy who regularly advertised hiisself
proudly as the son of a postman } was a good guy.Like Fellow Ohioan who also grew up
in meager circumstances John Boehner, they both fell into the Washington D.C. swamp water too
often for their own good.Today's John Kasich is NOT the same Kasich of yesteryears congress.
he allowed himself to become emasculated.Politically Pussified. He believes in Global Warming,
now Climate Change.Obviosuly due to it's political expediency. We just witnessed one of The Coldest
Thanksgivings in memory.Plus Polar Bear populations are on the rise. Not a little bit but a lot.
Which makes John Kasich a schmuck.Like what Donald Trump made of him.
I wonder if asked what John Kasich would say his Father would think about Global
Warming.

NO ! actually far from it.We saw how ineffective his chance { one or 16 GOP candidates }
to explain himself and his POV on Governing.he had some traditional ideas but nothing too
exciting. The Public was starved for a GOP candidate unlike a Mitt Rpmney.Because Romney allowed
himself to be bullied and pushed around by Barack Obama.Even though in their first Presidential
Debate Romney blew the crease right out of Obama's trousers.

Like I said, too reasonable to be a GOP candidate. Instead we have a narcissistic asshole with the attention span of a gnat. Not to mention a lying scumbag.

I think a lot of Republicans actually don't care for lying scumbags. Some of them have left the party and now identify as independent. This skews the stats of his support among Republicans. He'll be attractive to those who want to vote for a respectable candidate who isn't a Democrat.

In the debates, Kasich talked like a Democrat (Old school - not the Socialist/Whatever crowd).

He is a RINO at best.

If Kasich ran as a Democrat, he could win the General - He will never be a Republican nominee.

My guy Donald would have lost the General to Bernie, Kasich, Obama (either one) and any of the Republicans.

Hillary was one of the few people on the planet that could not beat Donnie - hope she stays out of prison long enough to run again.

Shutdown until he gets a wall - or he is gone in two.

Shutdown for two years - or until he gets a wall - and he gets reelected.

$15,000,000,000.00/year (15 BILLION minimum) non essential salary. (350,000 non-essential X $50.000.00/year)

Paying 600 Governors/Senators/Congressmen, not at work, setting the example what essential employees can produce.

As a 1995 shutdown veteran, the government ran smoother without non essentials, as their primary function was to create messes to justify their existence.

No Wall = No Country = No Donnie

Spoiler for Democrats.

Only Donald Trump can beat Donald Trump.

5B for wall = Trump 2020

Otherwise he is gone in 2.

I believe Trump 2020 and Kasich gets Ohio (18) as an Independent.
