Do you believe in Karma?
Is it a real thing?
Instant? Almost instant? Long term?
I don't believe in the re-birth kind of Karma, but occasionally the more instant kinds of Karma are fun to witness.
What goes around comes around kinda thing.
What do you think?
Where do you fall on the whole "karma" thing?
No...I do believe what the Bible says though...you reap what you sow sooner or later...it may not be today, it may not be tomorrow, but you will reap what you sow...there is no way around it...
Uhhh....how does that jibe with the whole "forgiveness" thing? Repenting for one's sins?

I think you might be talking about two different things, though. One can repent of their sins and still face consequences. God forgives...many humans do not. Therefore it is possible that God may have forgiven you, but you still take an ass whooping at the hands of those you have wronged. Further, I would suggest that that verse speaks to more than just sinning - if you do good, you will get good in return would be the opposite side of that same coin.
(Sorry, Elvira, for jumping in...I have a job interview today that I'm nervous about, so I'm kind of going overboard with the whole responding thing...anxiety tactic)
Uh, what does that have to do with forgiveness? Even if one repents and is forgiven, they still have to reap what they've sown in their sins...example, a convicted murderer still has to go to prison, a promiscuous person who contracts a deadly disease, such as AIDS, still has it...SMH...
So you're talking more short-term Karma?
Not eternal Karma?

Sure you are.
No, it is the law of cause and effect that Jehovah God put into motion with creation...Proverbs 1:31-33...
Karma (/ˈkɑːrmə/; Sanskrit: कर्म, translit. karma, IPA: [ˈkɐɽmɐ] (About this soundlisten); Pali: kamma) means action, work or deed;[1] it also refers to the spiritual principle of cause and effect where intent and actions of an individual (cause) influence the future of that individual (effect).[2] Good intent and good deeds contribute to good karma and happier rebirths , while bad intent and bad deeds contribute to bad karma and bad rebirths.[3][4]
Karma has been around for MUCH longer than anything Jehovah's Witness has.
You're just playing semantics.
It's rather fun to watch.
Longer than creation, huh?
Stop for slight derailment:
What's the job? Pay increase? Relocation? Something more in tune with your personal enjoyment?
haha...uh. Well, I'm not 100% sure. It's a logistics analyst position, similar to what I'm doing now, but a different industry - the automotive industry in Canada is a bit uncertain at the moment, and I'm not a giant fan of it, to be honest - it's a brutal industry culture. The one I'm going for would be better money, closer to home, and yeah, more in tune with my personal enjoyment.
As someone who has pretty heavy duty anxiety, interviews are a challenge. I do well, but they are very taxing...more so because I'm very much wanting to get out of where I'm at. Adulting is tough.I'm also excited though - I think my chances are good, there's a bit of a warm market connection.
To bring it back, sort of, I'm a Matthew 6 kinda guy...today I'm especially enjoying chapters 28-34.You might find that silly...that's ok.

Everything happens for a reason. Sometimes the reason is that you were stupid and made bad choices.
Everything does not happen for a reason. Sometimes bad things can and will just happen, for no reason at all. That's the reality.
