Rove claims that this October surprise will result in the GOP keeping both houses this fall, but wont say what it is - Thats why they call it a surprise, of course.

Anyone want to speculate? bin Laden caught? Bush just balanced the budget? Intelligent life found on Mars? Intelligent life found in the White House? :)

My guess is that the GOP will put forth legislation to try to suspend the November elections. :)
It's their only hope to keep the House.

I think the 'surprise' Rove was talking about involves who the candidates for the presidential election in 2008 will be. They might start campaigning early. There might be surprises on who is running, like Rice would be sort of a surprise, sense she claims that she won't run.

Maybe the surprise is a free t-shirt to everyone who votes republican...

I am thinking like the ultimate Right Wing Wedge Issue.

I look for Fox News in October to start reporting that "unnamed sources" have revealed a supposed Gay and Lesbian Conspiracy to use Embryonic Stem Cells harvested from from a secret anti-Christian genetic engineering program at the DNC headquarters where they are using organs harvested from Terry Schiavo, using funding from her life insurance policy, and heat from hundreds of thousands of burning American Flags, in an attempt to engineer a disease that results in all men turning gay and all women turning into feminists. On top of all of that, more "unnamed sources" will reveal that an Episcopal Priest is performing same sex marriage ceremonies between those embryos and gay men. Some former Republican Congressman will then talk about the need for a constitutional amendment that bans such practices and that if Republicans hold the House, such an amendment will be brought to the floor of congress.

:rofl You forgot that these same conspirators are trying to give all world Terrorists a safe haven in the US and make Islam our national religion.

Moderator's Warning:
No need for that.

A warning for that:shock: Come on. I thought you were always allowed to reply stupidly to stupidity, no?

Like you, I hope Rice runs. BUT, we have not had an unmarried US president elected in a long, long time. I can't think of any in the 20th century--you might have to go back to Buchanan (and he was gay)... I don't know if it would be an issue with the first serious female candidate. She'd have the nomination to lose, though... or a spot as VP with any Repub candidate...

It wasnt an official warning, just a lil note. theres no need for huge letters or to mock people so openly. not a big deal.

I was proud of you, NYU. ;)

You leftists confuse me. You want to legalize pot, but when Rush pops pills, y'all are all over him like stink on s---. I just don't get it. A narcotic is a narcotic... Oh, is it because he's a republican? Or is it because you guys are "fair weather flip floppers"?

I got another idea for the October surprise, but I hope it ain't true. What if the republicans, after winning a few seats, make a coup like the one in Thailand and kick the minority dems out of the country? Imagine, King Karl Rove the Obese, Master of Elephants.

Then why have the huge font in the first place? Didn't you see hipster's mocking reply to mine? Or do you just not like me?

Well, not defending those who want weed legalized (cause weed ain't cool), but... weed is not a "narcotic"

That's an odd question. It's like "why does my keyboard have the letters f, u, c, and k if it doesnt want me to tell someone I disagree with to go **** themselves?" It's there for when it needs to be properly used.

Didn't you see hipster's mocking reply to mine?

But his reply was in jest and not personally attacking toward you. Yours was a lot more serious, more blatant, and criticizing him.

Or do you just not like me?

I like you just fine, and probably more than most people on here. But that doesn't mean Im not going to say anything. Look, it wasn't a big deal, it wasn't an official warning, and honestly, by now, if it didnt keep getting brought up, I would have forgotten about it anyways. Let's just move on and avoid that in the future.:2wave:

Whatever, same damn difference. It's still a drug and most leftists want it legalized, cuz the hippies have rights too...

So do some Conservatives, just about all Libertarians, and of course, Kinky Friedman, who gets my vote for governor of Texas. None on this list could be construed as hippies. :)

The only reason why I would support legalization is if the tax was equal to the tax on gasoline and cigarettes combined.

Eww a sin tax? Unless they apply to alchohol as well, its wrong.

Most states already have a tax on alcoholic beverages.
Umm.. are you aware there is already a tax on cigarettes?

Or is it okay to tax and ban cigarettes but not okay to do so with weed?

Damned Hippies......

I am aware, thats why I didnt mention it. First of all I am against taxation PERIOD however, if you are going to use that arguement against weed, it must also be applied to alchohol and cigarettes in order to be applied fairly.

Well, since Alcohol and Cigarettes are already legal in the U.S. and Already Taxed.... I don't understand how I need to be reminded that I need to use that argument.

Why should I use that argument when its already in place???
Dee dee dee???!?!?

Hey the leftist here dismiss out of hand anything from NewsMax when it speaks disparingly of Dems but seem to cite them as an authoritative source when it suits their fancy.
