While Americans are getting more stone hearted and embracing a coarser, more openly vulgar, and less refined culture, busy shuttering their doors and windows, the Canadians have not forgotten their sense of humanity. Here are a Syrian refugee family who escaped the war in their country and was greeted in Canada with open arms. In gratitude, they named their son Justin Trudeau. It's good to know not everyone is forgetting their very humanity.

It's great to be Canadian.
 

That is very good for him among his voters. Good picture.
 
Sometimes brute military force is the required answer to an immediate acute situation involving warring cultures.

But in the long run, the winning hand in America has always been assimilation. Idea and ideology have always prevailed over brute force in the end, and affirmed our greatness. As of late, it seems Canada may understand this better than America.

Actually, I think that Canada understands that they needn't invest in international security as long as someone else secures it. It is a widely Global Public Good for which exclusivity is almost not possible. So free riding is the thrifty way to go as long as you are sure that you can avoid sanctions. Usually countries that go down that rout hide their free ride in a fluff of moralism and emotional propaganda that is cheaper than paying for the Public Good.
 
Stupid attack on a country. Yes it may be nice to take in refugee's. But when people in your country are struggling, allocating resources to a DIFFERENT country is just abhorrent. It is a way to show your virtue to the many.

No one will deny that some refugees could do with a new home. That's why America and many other countries have given money to turkey and surrounding countries to house refugees closer to their home.

When homing a refugee in America you have to make the conscious decision to give a free house to a foreign person over a native. 100% garuntee you could find so many disenfranchised Americans that could do with free accommodation and a bit of a pick me up from the GOV, but they won't get it.

You can't seriously uphold your virtues side. Otherwise you would be thinking the below:

"I am gunna give a portion of my salary to refugees" You would only keep what you NEED, the rest can go to people less fortunate.
