CNN's legal challenge came in response to the Trump administration's decision last week to yank Acosta's "hard pass," which gave him access to the White House grounds, after Acosta clashed with the president at a news conference earlier that day.
In the process, the suit threw into stark relief Trump's increasingly fraught relationship with many mainstream media outlets, which he regularly decries as "fake news" and "the enemy of the people."
Now it is in the WH backyard to devise a process for removing press credentials

Judge criticized WH for their ever changing stories

In their lawsuit, the network said the White House’s actions violated the network and Acosta’s First and Fifth Amendment rights to free speech and due process. CNN argued Trump stripped Acosta of his access because of the questions he posed to the president; and that the White House failed to follow federal regulations dictating press-pass access.

In his decision, Judge Kelly said that under previous precedent set by a 1977 ruling, the White House “must provide due process if they are to revoke Mr. Acosta’s hard pass.”

How many times do you think Acosta will be called upon in the future?

A victory for free speech.

And the toddler-in-chief will have his usual mental breakdown.

Gonna be a rough week for him. :lamo

Process:

Step 1: You are asked to stop asking questions.
Step 2: You refuse to turn over microphone to WH staff
Step 3: You make contact with WH staff
Step 4: Your pass is suspended until all your advertisers pay their employees $15/hr (or more).

0. also this is a stay in the initial one this isn't a final ruling.
sure he can sit there, but trump can ignore him.

and if he wants to be belligerent during the conferences he can be asked to leave.
that is the better way to take care of acosta.

Wow... thats pretty shocking actually. I stated this a few times in different ways in different threads:

"The white house can pull whosoever's pass they want for any reason
but depending on why, it also opens them up for praise or criticisms.

In this case...... criticisms and much deserved criticisms based on trumps whack job triggered melt down. The best part is they know it hence the dishonest exaggerations and usage of doctored videos.

Regardless though i dont see how this is a legal matter unless theres some precedence out there i dont know about...seems like a waste of time.... . guess we'll see

well seems i was wrong about the waste of time and now that i know about the precedence.....the judge ruled exactly as he should have..... good for CNN

PS this isn't over this is simply a temporarly order delay.
the real case still has to go through.

While the judge temporarily restored Acosta's press badge, later hearings could determine whether Acosta's First Amendment rights were violated.

If he thinks this week is rough, wait till the Dems in 19 start calling witnesses.
Will he suffer Twitter Burnout?
Will he have spare phones?
What will he do?
Oh yes, lash out as always, his base will suck it up, Congress (House-Senate) will provide cover and makes 2020 Dem Presidency much easier

One can get a real feel for Trump when he used the term embrace after 6 Nov. Off the top of my head, some more Trump supporters will feel an embrace, handcuff embrace that is.

!- threat to the President.

Oh, I'm sure Trump will take this to the rigged Supreme Court, get what he wants and then manage to pretend it's fair. And, of course, his many sycophants will cheer.

The only belligerent one is el trumpo. Acosta was merely doing his job, yeah maybe he could have given back the mic quicker but he wasn’t being “belligerent”, he was asking questions (again, that’s his job) which trump neglected to answer and chose to be disgustingly rude, condescending and took personal jabs at Acosta and others in lieu of answering those questions. Good for Acosta for fighting back against the tyrant in chief and the Judge made the right call here.

The correct court decision.

The Trump White House is in the process of silencing investigative journalists by holding their press-pass hostage.

Every major media corporation, including FOX News, supported CNN with amicus (friend of the court) briefs.

Take that Trump!!!!

Robbie Benson said it in ONE ON ONE..... all the way up with a red hot poker!!!

A victory for freedom of the press and a big loss for Trump and his authoritarian ways.

Great, but this certainly a step in the right direction.

Looks like it ain't over until the fat lady sings...
A federal judge on Friday grants CNN’s request for a court order that would temporarily reinstate network correspondent Jim Acosta’s White House press pass.

Even if the ruling becomes permanent down the road, there is no ruling that says the WH must answer Acosta's bait questions.

No he was being belligerent. He wouldn't be quite when the president was trying to talk to someone else.
he kept interupting when the president was attempting to get another question.

but it is ok because well #it'strump.

had a fox news reporter done that to obama you people would be calling them racist, bigot and everything else and demand they be fired.
No acosta just feeds the TDs'ers.

LOL tyrant. You people have no idea what a tyrant is. which is why it is just nonsense in trying to discuss anything with you.
it is simply a waste of time.

President Trump should go ahead and cease all pressers.

What questions did Trump not answer? Acosta asked why Trump was calling the caravan an invasion. Trump answered. Acosta started to ask about the Russian investigation, Trump answered that too. Did he have some other question that he asked that I didn't hear?

There's one of those Trump appointees, and former Republican staffers, who can't be trusted when it comes to anything they have to decide concerning their Dear Leader.

Or so I've been told that's how it goes.

Trump wasn’t answering Acosta’s questions anyway. It’s clear Trump just picks on him to berate him and pick fights. That’s why Acosta keeps pressing. Notice Acosta doesn’t care about trump’s nastiness, he just wants answers to his questions. So great, at least Acosta can still keep his pass and continue to try to do his job, which is all he wanted to do in the first place.

All these liberal activist judges make me sick. This is just more deep state resistance against Trump. This judge was appointed by...

*checks notes*

...President Trump.

Never mind.
