Fortunately he has a good attorney. However, the arrest was calculated as you can see. They knew he is a journalist and it is obvious he was not impeding policeThe free press is dead.
Yes, they were expecting him, and probably had instructions to arrest him on sight.Fortunately he has a good attorney. However, the arrest was calculated as you can see. They knew he is a journalist and it is obvious he was not impeding police
He had been there probably about 30 minutes so you may be right. He has video as well as video from protesters that shows he wasn’t impeding or in the road and as we can all see he certainly wasn’t obstructing policeYes, they were expecting him, and probably had instructions to arrest him on sight.
This isn't about the law, this is trump. Remember this...I am your retribution. This is trump striking out against his perceived enemies. He had been there probably about 30 minutes so you may be right. A journalist based in Atlanta was one of eight people arrested during Saturday's 'No Kings' rally in DeKalb County, GA.
Mario Guevara, wearing a helmet and vest identifying him as a member of the press, was detained on a Facebook livestream after walking beside a group of police officers. NBC affiliate 11Alivereports that in the video of his arrest, you can hear Guevara telling officers he was a reporter before the video stopped.
If you watch the video he’s neither obstructing police nor impeding traffic this is ridiculous and an abuse of power because these idiots don’t like being recorded. I know Mario and Im positive they knew who he is.
Its at the end when they take his camera. You can google his name if you think Im lyingWatched for over 20 mins. of him recording and saw no arrest. Anyone have a timestamp?
Didn't think you were lying. Wanted some context. The authorities were pretty calm from what I watched so far, but I didn't want to spend another 20 minutes watching the police stand there. Its at the end when they take his camera. You can google his name if you think Im lying
At about the time he is confronted by Police he does appear to be much closer to the police, at least in the area they appear to be clearing back. His being a reporter doesn't give him the ability to get in the way or be in an area they have told people to leave. So the arrest suggest he was somewhere he wasn't supposed to be. The court will decide now.Journalist arrested on live video during Atlanta protest
