Depends on whether you're looking for the short term benefits or for the long term benefits...Also, do you think it's more important to be a Good Person (Morality) or Good Christian (Obedience)?
Long term benefits die when you do, the benefit was called life. Should I waste my life waiting and HOPING there is an afterlife and your long term benefits? Remember this is what you believe, not me.Depends on whether you're looking for the short term benefits or for the long term benefits...
Why not? How does it harm you? And if you were so concerned about wasting time, you wouldnt have 60,000 posts hereLong term benefits die when you do, the benefit was called life. Should I waste my life waiting and HOPING there is an afterlife and your long term benefits?

As I've said numerous times, I was raised Catholic and did all the catholic crap for ten years and then I just couldn't take any more of the bullshit. I do not believe in gods, yours or anyone else's god. I waste my time on here and you can use yours reading the bible, deal? Why not? How does it harm you? Sorry Bongs, this ain't life...not the real life God intended for us...that is what I am reaching out/looking forward to...Long term benefits die when you do, the benefit was called life. Im an atheist. But with regard to an afterlife, i really hope I am wrong. And people trusting or believing that one day they will meet a departed loved one is a tremendous way to diffuse grief and an overwhelming sense of loss.As I've said numerous times, I was raised Catholic and did all the catholic crap for ten years and then I just couldn't take any more of the bullshit. If this isn't life, why do you need to die to get to your real life? You do realize no matter how many Bible quotes you throw out there, it's all still just a belief, not fact.Sorry Bongs, this ain't life...not the real life God intended for us...that is what I am reaching out/looking forward to...
"Fight the fine fight of the faith; get a firm hold on the everlasting life for which you were called and you offered the fine public declaration in front of many witnesses....safely treasuring up for themselves a fine foundation for the future, so that they may get a firm hold on the real life." 1 Timothy 6:12,19
the real life: Paul uses wording similar to that found at 1Ti 6:12, where he urged Timothy: “Get a firm hold on the everlasting life for which you were called.” So “the real life” that Paul mentions here and “the everlasting life” apparently mean the same thing. (See study note on Joh 14:6.) Both Paul and Timothy understood that Jehovah, the Source of life, originally intended for humans to enjoy a peaceful and fulfilling life on earth forever. (Ge 1:28; 2:15-17) Compared with that, a life that is brief and full of troubles, sickness, and loss is futile and frustrating. (Job 14:1, 2; Ps 103:15, 16; Ec 1:2) These factors make both life and material possessions uncertain. Paul wanted his fellow Christians living “in the present system of things” to treasure the prospect of attaining “the real life,” eternal life full of joy and peace.—1Ti 6:17.

For those folks, I hope they are right and I'm wrong. Do you know of anyone in your family or friends that have had a loved one die and someone says they appeared to me to tell me they are fine and move on with their lives. I've had that experience and I think it's a way of our brains/minds helping to ease the suffering but it's not real.Im an atheist. But with regard to an afterlife, i really hope I am wrong. Being a Good Christian would be a guidebook to being a morally good person. Why do you think you have to separate the two? But being a good person doesn't necessarily make you a Christian. To be a Christian you have to accept Christ.Full video:

Daisy cant relate to people outside her cult. Its one reason i left christianity. It wouldnt allow me to see the world and other people on their own terms. Its also unrealistic to believe that there is a single source of evil.If this isn't life, why do you need to die to get to your real life?
