John Kerry: U.S. Soldiers Not 'Smart'

Sen. John Kerry has sparked outrage by suggesting that U.S. troops in Iraq are uneducated and not "smart.”

At a campaign event for California gubernatorial candidate Phil Angelides at Pasadena City College on Monday, the Massachusetts Democrat and Vietnam veteran said: "You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.”

Him saying it was bad enough, him blaming the Republicans on the reaction to it is even worse...

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,226490,00.html

He's even using personal insults towards Tony Snow & Rush Limbaugh to deflect criticism.... I guess this is what it's come down to, huh, folks? Personal insults? Charlie Rangel calling Cheney a "son of a bitch" and saying that he needs to go into rehab for a personality disorder? Where's the people who damned Cheney for telling a Senator to fuq off because using profanity demeans the institutions... I can't wait to see them come and damn Rangel for the same thing...

The Tennessee candidate, Ford, intimating that Republicans don't love God and that only Democrats do?

People in both parties, I guess, don't have any honor or integrity in their own beliefs...

I weep for our country... this is the best we can come up to be our representatives?

Oh my God, what a turd. Can you imagine if he were the Commander-In-Chief today and were to say this?

Hmm, he could have just been talking about the president.

Bush got better grades than Kerry, regardless given the context and the setting (a college campus) it is obvious who he was talking about, that comment was in reference to the troops not the President, but of course that IS how he's trying to spin it.

So, basically what you're saying is that you don't have anything constructive to bring to the discussion? ahhh.... ok, well thanks for stopping by anyways... have a good one!

It was just a joke there boys, thus my grinny face. Just trying to lighten up the upcoming beating that Kerry deserves.

Ok, sorry about my sarcasm towards you then...

But, you don't really think the diehard dems are going to actually criticize Kerry, do you? By the end of this, it'll be Bush's, Rush's, O'Reilly's, Cheney's fault... It'll be so GD intellectually dishonest it won't be funny...

And guess what, I'm a Republican and I don't think he necessarily meant it THAT way, but his reaction to the reaction is pretty stupid... it must suck for a Democrat to have a quote taken out of context, God knows Republicans have had it happen to them a lot lately...

I know you were joking but that is exactly how Kerry is actually trying to spin it.
He needs to either apologize or just admit he's being a jerk. I had a lot of friends in the Guard/Reserves in college that helped them pay their way through. For someone educated as Kerry is, you'd think he'd know better than to say something so...well, stupid.

Kerry has to be the dumbest democrat that exists............With his latest anti military comments he helped the Republicans keep the HOR and the Senate............

The guy is and idiot...........Thank you Kerry........

Kerry is and always has been an elitist snob. The fact that he and his wife are completely incapable of hiding the fact that they are elistists snobs is what made them so freaking unlikeable.

Agreed but he himself stated that he refuses to apologize and actually attacked Republicans for taking him to task on his crap, he said this:

“I’m sick and tired of these despicable Republican attacks that always seem to come from those who never can be found to serve in war, but love to attack those who did.”

But guess who has come out and demanded him to apologize? A far greater war hero than Kerry has even pretended to be:

U.S. Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) issued a statement today calling on fellow Vietnam veteran Kerry to say he’s sorry.
“Senator Kerry owes an apology to the many thousands of Americans serving in Iraq, who answered their country’s call because they are patriots and not because of any deficiencies in their education,” McCain said in a statement posted on drudgereport.com.

The Democrats LOVE the Military!

They LOVE to lie under oath about war crimes they made up to start their own anti-war political careers!

They LOVE to call us Nazi and Pol Pot genocidal regeimist equivalents.

And they LOVE to call us 'terroroists'!

Its all just a part of the way the DNC likes to show our military some 'Luv'!

Kerry says U.S. troops "terrorizing" Iraqi women and children
http://newsbusters.org/node/3092

On Sunday's edition of CBS's "Face the Nation", Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass) said in an interview with Bob Schieffer that U.S. troops were terrorizing Iraqi women and children.

Once again, John Kerry shows us his disdain for the military and the lies he will spread to further the twisted agenda of the Democratic Party. With everything else heard from Rep. Murtha and Howard Dean in recent days, it's clear the liberal left doesn't want democracy to take hold in Iraq. They want us to fail so they can prop themselves up for the '06 and '08 elections.

What a POS!

And he was the best man in the DNC that they could put forth to run for President! that says a lot about the state of the Democratic party!

You know, him saying that, and me being a Marine vet. just makes me want to rip his head off. He makes it seem like being in the military requires no education or skill. Hell I had to go to my specialty school for an entire year before I was in the Fleet Marine Corps.
There are alot of officers in the military who had to complete college degrees to receive their commision.
I know Kerry was a Navy vet, and his words are completely shameful for someone who served. And the fact he comes back out and tries to spin it off as something else when its very obvious what he was saying show what little charecter he has. I am not a big Bush fan, but thank god we didn't vote this turd sandwhich into office.

He did? We already voted? Damn I missed it.

Kerry flat out does not think before he speaks. To me his speech was you either go to college or you join the military. Which is obviously not the only two choices and I do not agree with his claim. There are many educated people in the military and there are many stupid people in college.

So, is Kerry suggesting that Americans need a college education and also a degree to be able to say NO to voluntary military service?

You know the elections are next Tuesday right?

That is crap he said people are join the military are dumb.......

Hahaha.

This is absolutely amazing. As I sit here at work on my government computer in uniform and awed, our Outlook System is buzzing with forwarded e-mails regarding his statements from all regions of the earth. I have received one e-mail from Camp Lejeune (North Carolina), one from 29 Palms (California), and one from Camp Butler (Okinawa, Japan). Other Marines are receiving the same from their former pals around the globe on other bases. I would venture a guess that the same thing is occurring in other branches of service.

It doesn't matter how he meant it. Any respect from the military was just lost. It's that easy. The technological information age is pretty dangerous.

Whether you Liberals know it there are a lot of guys in the military who have college degrees and join because they are patriotic.......

I guess Kerry would never understand that........He thinks guys in the military are terrorists and that they rape and murder civilians.......

I have to agree--that comment was really uncalled for. What the hell was he thinking?
