Kelly has bent over backwards to make this relationship work. He basically has compromised his own dignity and hurt his career by associating with this administration. But he was seen by many to be one of the last anchoring posts of sanity in the Trump whitehouse. Many on the left and right wanted him to stay on as long as he could to keep things from completely going into a tailspin of complete ignorance and insanity. But apparently, he could not hang on any longer. There are reports that he and Trump have not talked in days, and he is expected to resign soon.

Who is left who is semi sane? Mattis? Who do you think will replace Kelly? Another ditzy blond Fox News anchor? Another Fox News pundit? Hannity is already The de facto chief of staff at the White House. Might as well make it official now.

Kelly out and Ayers in signals two more years of nothing...stagnation. Its just as well as nothing Trump does really helps move the country forward. It just moves the country backwards while Trump reaps the personal wealth benefit.

Ayers is a Campaign Manager that will now be sitting in the Chief of Staff's office. Trump can neither run his administration nor his party. We have no State Dept and most of his cabinet is corrupt to the bone. Achtung Adolf (Steve) Miller is only focused on draconian Immigration policy. In truth, the Cabinet is for the most part so focused on making its own ill gotten gains that most of the running of the country has been left to Bureaucrats, Public Servants. You New Right characters didn't actually think Trump's political operatives were running the day to day of the country did you?

Memo to the New Right, when you leave key posts in an Administration vacant, don't even send up nominees to the Hill, you leave the running of the country to the career Public Servants....just the opposite of what you thought you were signing up for when you voted for Trump.

The Trump Administration has even bogged down in its deregulation initiatives and what it is doing in that regard is so half baked that they make neither business sense nor political sense any longer. Cutting away further at Obama's Carbon initiative won't yield more jobs and is just going to irritate "thinking" Americans more. So who will be voting for Trump or even the GOP in 2020, some combination of Coal miners and Evangelists? Good luck with that one.

Ayer not going to take the Chief of Staff job in Trump WH. Frankly, he would have been a figurehead as COS and would likely have been working as a campaign manager from the COS office. Ayer was smart to reject that idea. He will likely work for Trump as part of a straight up reelection effort as opposed to one hiding under the COS job.

What a complete cluster. We have few if any department heads in the Trump WH and administration that have any earthly idea what they are doing nor that care particularly for the departments they head! We have no State Dept. Pompeo is simply left traveling the globe trying to make the rest of the world believe there is some sort of plan at play here. We have no AG really. We have Mattis at Defense. That is one for three for the three most critical departments in the government. We have an "I play a National Security Advisor on TV" National Security Advisor and we are about to have a Fox News Anchor for UN Ambassador in a role that will now be below Cabinet level because Pompeo who actually does not have the time to do his actual job is making a power grab of all things. Mnuchin is bloodthirsty but is actually as close to competent as it gets in this administration. Navarro is comical, Kudlow is another TV personality official. Lighthizer is another guy that is at least competent but has nothing behind him besides, Donald Duck, Kudlow and Navarro....Moe, Larry and Curly. By the way, has there been a Wilber sighting lately or have they shuffled him off to the retirement home where he belongs.

Perry at Energy is a complete joke who does not even know what is going on in nuclear in his own State, never mind the Country. Devos is a joke. Carson is a joke. Acosta is proving to be an embarrassment at Labor. Zenke is a crook with a bunch of other crooks already driven from their Cabinet level positions. Neilson is desperate to get out and will not likely survive Kelly's departure.

I pointed out in another post that the New Right is getting exactly the opposite of what it hoped in electing Trump because there are so many vacant positions in the Trump administration that a nominee has not even been presented for and so many dunce caps at the heads of departments that it is the rank and file career bureaucrats with their fingers in the dikes that are actually running the country though not well because they are not lead BY ANYBODY! There are no policy initiatives in Trump world. Even deregulation has bogged down, thankfully.

However none of us is getting what we want from government. We are not moving forward as a country. We are moving backwards. Even just this 4 year term might require 20 years or more in recover for the country as a whole. Yet as mentioned above the very people that the New Right criticizes as the Deeeeeep Staaaaate are actually running the country, they being the only people in the government that have any earthly idea what they are doing.

Then lets not even start with Donald Duck himself who simply wings it and does not actual want an actual Chief of Staff regardless of what he says or who he does or does not bring in for the job. Bozo the President cares for nothing from the Oval Office but enhancing his own personal wealth ambitions PERIOD!

I am left hoping that some major debacle does not befall us in the the next two years though Trump literally could not be risking one more if he was actually trying to create one. Then I would hope enough of us as the Electorate actually see what is happening to the country without a major cockup to point to and just drive Trump and his hideous crew to ground in 2020. As for the 30-odd % of the Electorate that would follow Trump right off a cliff edge, honestly I just don't care about them anymore. We will simply need to bury them in 2020. I am pretty much convinced that half of them, fully 15% are anarchists that would see the country burnt to the ground if they had their way and simply see Trump as the best vessel to pour that desire into they are ever going to see.
