Jim Acosta, the CNN chief White House correspondent whose public confrontations with Donald Trump went viral, has warned that it is a dangerous time to tell the truth in the US.

Acosta defended his heated interactions with Trump and slammed the president and his administration for continuing to describe the press as the enemy of the people and for claiming CNN were purveyors of “fake news”.
=================================================
As our intel chiefs learned when they were called on the carpet in OO for speaking truth that contradicted Trump, telling the truth in America today is potentially very dangerous. Trump & his minions have created an alternate reality with regards to international security, the southern border, Venezuela, the climate & a host of other topics. And the scary thing about this is that 35% of the population believe this scary narrative alternate reality.

First question: How would Acosta know about telling the truth?

Give Acosta a pacifier and tell him to take a chill pill ...

IMO Acosta was never "telling the truth," but rather grandstanding, speechifying, and acting like a politician rather than a newsman. All to build up his own reputation.

I believe that he tries to CREATE news, with himself as the center of attention. IMO he is rude, demanding, inconsiderate, and has an ego bigger than Trump's.

I'd much prefer he asked a simple question and then report the response rather than lecturing and pretending he is asking for "clarification."

Poor Jimmy. Nobody's been paying him any attention.

He's like that little boy who shouts stupid stuff so people will notice him.

I see the first two responses are part of that thirty five percent. This presidency is an abomination and the enemy of the truth.

First four.......truth and all.....

telling the truth in America today is potentially very dangerous.

For someone decrying an "alternate reality," why are you creating one here?

What's "dangerous" about "telling the truth in America today"?

Really. Detail the danger. And considering you call it "very" dangerous, it better be good.

Small point of disagreement. Acosta is using his access to build his brand. He's crossed over into media personality and is no longer a journalist or reporter.

Obama used the ESPIONAGE ACT on journalists and their sources, but poor Jimmy got his credentials pulled for a few days and he's a martyr now:roll:

I'd much prefer that when asked a simple question, Trump or Sanders, or other administration officials would respond with a simple and honest answer.

How do you think a newsman should act? A newsman is supposed to ask edgy questions. He isn't supposed to play nice. Trump went after him, remember. With the attacks on the press by the Trump admin., it's good to see someone fighting back.

That's his excuse for never doing so?

Jim Acosta, the gift that keeps on giving...

Such delicious irony that he finally admits to working for fake lying biased news, CNN.

You mean like when Trump threatened to go after Cohen's father in law if Cohen told the truth? That fits the bill imo.

Acosta apparently is so deluded that he believes his own lies.

There's only Cohen's word for that.

If as Acosta stated 'it is a dangerous time to tell the truth in the US.' then Acosta is in no danger at all!!!!

Fake lying biased Fox sure could use some good reporters like him.
