That was VERY hard to watch without having a LAUGH ATTACK! The music was hysterically funny and WAY to dramatic for such redundancies.

Thanks anyway, but I didn't like McCarthyism when he was alive. I'm not a fan of Nationalism either.

Sorry slick but that was just the truth. Those attacks did happen and they did kill Americans. Now YOU tell me why showing infomation on the attacks we have suffered since the last 1970's is meaningless.

what would drive you to ask such a strange statement?? Of course I am not a fan of those things. But I don't see much of a difference between the way Chirstians indoctrinate young people in a 'Jesus' camp and the way the Arabs teach their children that Jews are the 'enemy'. And while I'm sure there are people who would suggest that their children become martyrs, I think the cases of such people are exaggerated on a GRAND SCALE by American corporate media and the Bush administration, who's attempt is to villify Islam the way they villify Liberals and Gays in the US.

The attacks on 9/11 warranted taking prisoner THOSE WHO COMMITTED THE ACT. But to forcibly occupy a country, blow up innocent civilians, women and children, is NOT a very rational way of fighting terrorism. In fact I would argue that the Bush admin's failure in their bogus 'war on terror' is only creating an even more hostile environment because in only a couple years, the Bush admin has managed to even alienate the US from our previous ALLIES.

The 'War on Terror' is nothing but a mass deception for big business to suck trillions out of a defenseless country at the expense of the people of Iraq and our own young soldiers. I would URGE those who support the 'war' in Iraq to go relieve a tired soldier who is on their 2nd or 3rd tour of duty. If they are unwilling to go to Iraq, then they should stop whining about those of us who are trying to free our soldiers from the preposterous blood for oil charade and the Iraqi people from certain destruction and corporate sponsered terrorism.

I certainly do. I care about EVERY victim of war. What I do not care about are the perpetrators who create war so make the rich richer and kill the poor and defenseless. Iraq was about as much a threat to the US as ANTARCTICA, and they could barely get a skud missle (ones furnished to them by Bush Sr.) across town, much less a single soldier on US soil.

The really disturbing thing is that something like 60% of America still thinks that Saddam Hussien ordered 9/11. I'm not so sure 9/11 was not an inside job of the Bush admin. Such a scenario wouldn't cause me to blink. Absolute evil will lie and deceive absolutely, which is why we should be working harder than ever to impeach.
 


You don't see the difference between christians teaching there children to love thy neighbor, honor thy mother and father, and to treat everyone the way they would want to be treated. And Muslims teaching there children to become martyrs strap on bombs and kill innocents. Im sorry but I can't understand how you can think this way.

I am a christain, I would never under any circumstances teach my children to hate anyone. I have 2 daughters that I raised to be christians. They are loving, kind, well rounded individuals.

And you think gays are villified in this country? In Iran if you are gay they hang you in public.

Just this past weekend 3 french travelers were killed in Saudi Arabia just for being in the wrong place.

1) This movie tries to make you believe that islam is a global threat for the USA (here, you can make a parallel with the German propaganda of the 30's, saying EXACTLY the same about jews). From Chechnya to Darfur and Iraq, Islam is just a pretext to unite muslim warriors against a single scapegoat which is the West. Open a book of geopolitics and you'll see that "jihad" is islamic propaganda. By believing its true, you just fall in their trap.

2) This movie shows only pictures of extremists, as if all the muslims were extremists. In some parts of Turkey, women do not wear the veil. Most of them are peaceful (Sgt Rock you should read your topic about "religion of hate" again)

3) This movie shows only islamic terror attacks against the West. Fine. But that's not very fair not to remember the Americans that 90% of the victims of terrorism are non-white. That's the proof that the "jihad" is propaganda: the real aim is to gain local power and that's why they kill mostly non-whites.

As for the road sign, in what way is it different from this one (taken in Georgia in 1943)

The movie pointed out attacks on the US by Islamic’s since 1979. Maybe you’re just blind but Islam is a global threat. It doesn’t matter that some may only use the twisted religion as a veil to get what they desire or to brainwash others into doing their bidding but the fact remains the same it’s a threat. I would be protesting a government who bombed, raped and pillaged my people too. I didn't deny that the attacks were not real, it's the villification of Islam that is so hypocritical and shallow. That is what I find so incredibly nauseating. The problem, as always is with FUNDAMENTALISM and IGNORANCE not faith, or lack thereof. We have the same kind of fundamentalists in the US, and I think we should be spending more time working on our own home-grown terrorists instead of those who are really just tired of western influence.

I believe that Islamic-ruled countries suffer from theocracy and the tyranny and endemic corrruption that theocracy delivers, so installation of a puppet government for people on the verge of civil war and bent on destruction is not going to help at all. All it does is reinforce the hatred that the fundies already feel towards the US. I am sickened and offended that my tax dollars are paying to risk the lives of Americans because we don't like the way a government behaves. Iraq should be handling these problems THEMSELVES. No amount of policing by the US is going to stop the disasterous results of theocracy. It is sad that these ideologists are in such conflict but it is not the US's place to intervene.
 

Tell that to the hundreds of lynched victims of Christian KKK members. Tell it to the hundreds of thousands of dead Iraqi's in the first occupation. Tell it to the thousands of dead American soldiers who gave their lives to make money for the Bush admin and who fought to 'save' Iraq from themselves.

Actually, it was 72% of the US troops who think we should leave Iraq. It was EIGHTY FIVE percent of US troops who think they are retaliating for Saddam Hussein's role in 911. Even our own president has publically stated that intelligence reported Saddam had NOTHING to do with 9/11.

The Islam would have the EXACT same explanation as you. In fact many people who describe themselves as Muslims would absolutely disown groups like the Taliban or Al Quaeda just as you would want to disown people like Warren Jeffs and Haggard as being 'christians'. The problem is not Islam itself, it's the ignorance that so often goes with fundamentalism. Christianity has all of the hate and intolerance that Islam does, and while you may like to believe Christianity is the 'kinder, gentler' religion, it has no shortage of hatemongers. Fred Phelps is a good example of how Evangelical Christians teach their children to hate -- and to think that people like him are few and far between is to say that Al Quaeda is few and far between. Both are equal opportunity examples of tyranny, the ONLY difference is that Liberal Americans protect our nation from tyrannical religious right by demanding a separation of church and state.

I think you should watch 'Babel' because it demonstrates in a very UN-'preachy' way, how Islam gets falsely accused -- American corporate media seems 'ok' with presenting such a false portrayals so they can 'program' the average American to villify Islam just as you have, time and time again in this very thread.

Take a trip to the Bible Belt states and look at some of the irresponsible signs created by 'christians'. Better yet, read some of the hate-mail and death threats that the Atheist Society in the US is barraged with on a daily basis from so called 'christians'. Just a few weeks ago, Christian hate-group 'Focus on the Family' came to my town in efforts to 'cure homosexuality', as if it is some kind of disease. If that isn't the most blatant form of intolerance by a Christian group, I can't think of what is, with the exclusion of maybe Fred Phelps and his many followers.
Even worse, the war on Journalism with media groups like Fox actually has the audacity to give a soap-box to people like James Dobson who has time and time again publically used smear tactics and outright lies to vilify the gay movement and anyone who stands with the gay movement. It is unbearably disturbing to think that in the US we would have journalists irresponsible enough to give hatemongers like Dr. James Dobson the opportunity to present his prejudice and bias.
