Japan just recorded its earliest cherry blossom bloom in 1,200 years. Scientists warn it's a symptom of the larger climate crisis

Why do elephants wear red sneakers?
To hide in cherry trees.
You believe that?
No
Ever see an elephant in a cherry tree?
No
Don't they hide good? 😜

Seems like cherry blossoms are very temperamental.

Why hasn't there more record breaking early blossoms?

Global warming has been going on for years?

Winter sucks. Spring is always welcome. Regardless of how the Butt holes running MLB treat us.

The earlier Spring gets here, the better I like it.

Last year, after the leaves on my Japanese Maple came out, we suffered a hard freeze.

Because global warming is a myth. Man has no effect on the atmosphere . That's why catalytic convertors and strictor emissions standards didn't reduce smog in L.A.

The People's Republic of China is the world's leading annual emitter of greenhouse gases and mercury. An estimated 1.24 million people died from exposure to air pollution in the PRC in 2017, according to a recent study in the medical journal The Lancet but we all know that correlation does not prove cause.

CO2 is not a greenhouse gas and ever increasing amounts of it in our atmosphere have no effect on our climate.

That's why.

They call that climate change. When spring begins arriving in February you'll be overjoyed.

BTW, the vernal equinox will continue to arrive on the 20th of March regardless of the weather.

And this past winter it got down to 31 below zero and we had one snow storm of 18 inches of snow. That just cant happen on a planet that is getting warmer. We should be having record war winters.

When are you people going to learn the difference between weather and climate?

It's vital to get this info and analysis to Glasgow later this year. In fact, if you publicize it quickly, the nations of the world might not bother sending delegates.

But didn't Inhofe debunk this whole thing when be brought a snowball into Congress?

Yeeeaaahhhhh...

And you would think that if these denialist types like Inhofe were consistent they would be confirming AGW every time it gets hot outside. But that never happens.

I'm not sure what you're expecting. There have been more records set. Do you expect a new record to be set every year?

First off, we are have record warm winters. Your brain is not good at calculating statistical averages. This isn't calling you dumb, nobody has a brain that intuitively does this. It's just not how we are wired, that's why we had to invent the math to calculate this stuff. You focus on the one day it was -31 and ignore the hundred other days it was warmer than average.

Lots of snow means its warmer, not colder. You don't get 18 inches of snow when the temperature is -10.

We are discussing the changes in the weather over the last few decades. The last few decades represent a very slim sliver of a very large picture.

How about this: We are about as warm globally as we were about 5000 years ago.

We are about a degree cooler than we were 8000 years ago.

For about the last 9000 or 10,000 years in this interglacial, we have vacillated within about a 2 degree global temperature range. We are now about smack dab in the middle of that range.

As compared to other interglacials over the last half million or so years, we are currently very cool- about a degree or three down from previous.

Does that help you? Our globe is far too cool by historical standards. Previous highs were NOT driven by the single driving force the AGW Alarmists cite as the only one to track.

Previous global temperatures were much, much higher when CO2 was much, much lower.

The temperature was much higher when the earth was still forming and was repeatedly hit by massive asteroids. The surface was largely molten rock.

This doesn't mean all temperature changes are caused by asteroid impacts and gravitational heating, nor does it mean a molten rock surface is beneficial to humanity.

"Previous highs were not driven by CO2." This sentence is only relevant if you believe climate can only ever have one factor to cause changes. Do you believe that?

You do know that weather is not climate, right?
And who exactly is "we"? If "we" is the human population the world over, then "we" are indeed having record warm winters and record warm YEARS. You really need to pay closer attention.

I finally got around to looking into this. I didn't find a full article access to the paper, but according to the abstract, it was warmer in the 10th century than it is today.

The reconstructed tenth century March mean temperatures were around 7 degrees C, indicating warmer conditions than at present. Temperatures then fell until the 1180s, recovered gradually until the 1310s, and then declined again in the mid-fourteenth century.

OMG. No is denying that earth's climate changes. But the rapid rise in CO2 levels is causing change so rapidly our climate will kill us unless we get our act together and act as a united planet.

No real scientist is saying that AGW will kill us!

It would have to increase impossible more than today.

I believe that our global climate has at least 50 discreet causes that all interact with many acting as forcings in feed back loops. Those that are not atmospheric seem to be the most powerful causing cycling ice ages.

Those who parrot the dogma of the AGW Science proclaim that control of the emission of Anthropogenic CO2, one single and individual cause, will allow them to control and direct the climate of the planet.

IF you object to citing a single cause as THE driver of Global Climate, THEN you must object to the dogma offered by the AGW Science proponents.

In passing, our current climate seems to rely strongly on the closure of the Isthmus of Panama and the resulting changes in the ocean currents leading to the cyclical Ice Ages. Continental Drift is NOT based on atmospheric CO2 changes.

Since the cycling of ice ages did not start until the isthmus closed, they seem to be quite strongly connected. In contrast, despite the current high CO2 level, we have been much warmer than today at much lower CO2 levels.

Your reference to molten rocks is a sensational and unrelated factoid to the planet's current climate.
