January 6th

Cue the "It WaS NoT aN INsuRRecTIon!" bleats.
 
The saddest day in America in my lifetime, a deadly attack on our country, our government, our Republic and our democracy.........from within, from our own homegrown terrorists. Two year anniversary, and it still stings patriotic Americans like it was yesterday.......NEVER FORGET! May all of our police officers who lost their lives rest peacefully.

The GOP is so wrapped around the axle of what happened on 1/6/21 and its causes and its effects. They are so spineless and craven that they could not even bring themselves to join the gathering on the Capitol steps this morning remembering those Officers killed and wounded defending the Capitol that day. I saw one Republican Lawmaker in the crowd. Could have missed others MAYBE. The gathering was overwhelmingly D's and the families of the fallen.

So there you have it. The day, the event, its causes and its effects will forever be beyond the R's because they simply cannot stand the political pressure from within their ranks and from the Mar-a-lago Orangutan to categorize the coup as a non-event and the insurrectionists as patriots. As a consequence USCP will not likely get the support they need. The Federal Law Enforcement and Intelligence Communities will not be compelled to a different standard for Operations around such a threat as was mounted against the Capitol and the Country on 1/6/21. The magnetometers will not likely go back up leading into the Halls of Congress as some absurd showing of gun totting resolve. What they should put up is a video spool of R's running for their lives through the Capitol and barricading themselves in on that day in 2021.

All of this as a backdrop to a GOP House Conference that can not even manage a peaceful transition to itself in the building behind the Capitol steps.

Tell that to the families who lost officers or who had their loved ones injured by a bunch of white supremacist Trump supporter terrorists.

Not nothing, a lot of political prisoners and persecutions still. Abu Ghraib was much ado about nothing in relative terms. DC Gulag.
