Obviously many Cruz supporters are disappointed to have CheetoFace become the nominee. I urge you to stay engaged. Find a US Senator you like and help out.

There has to be a road back from the primaries for those who painted themselves into a corner.

I don't see why they would want one. Standing by Cruz appeared to be a matter of principle. They lost sure, but on principle could they actually vote FOR Trump? A man who represents everything they despise? I don't know.

The road back is to reassert conservatism from the ashes Trump will leave behind.

Standing by Cruz was the opposite of principle. The were voters against Trump and they weren't FOR much of anything. That's why there was an alliance between Ted Cruz and somene else whose name I forget. The were a governor of someplace.

Winning covers so many imperfections. It's a human thing, proven again and again by our history.

Look, the percentage of the folks who are actual rabid diehards in this regard is still so small as to be insignificant. Most will eventually pull the lever for their party's candidate.

I understand you need time to grieve your loss. However, if your "conservatism" is so weak that one president can destroy it, it was never strong enough to survive in the first place. If you've been around American politics for more than two minutes you'd know the place for playing out that particular contest is not in the Oval Office, but in the senate and house.

The ashes I'm referring to is the GOP after Trump loss in November. It took 16 years to come back from Goldwater's loss in 1964, but look how strong the comeback was.

Well, you were wrong about Trump taking the nomination. You were wrong about the party then endorsing him if he did (the party chairman just announced Trump as the presumptive nominee). Perhaps you can consider that you may be wrong about the general election as well.

To consider that Trump will win the General, will be to consider that America has finally, really and truly lost it's ****ing mind.

I mean if Trump ends up the President, God help us all, I mean really, god help us all.

The world will be faced with the grotesque and dangerous spectacle of a total ****ing idiot, more than we ever dreamed possible, running the most powerful military on Earth.

It truly takes a warped world view to support that man.

Way to gild that lily.

Forget #NEVERTRUMP it's now time for #NEWGOP
I actually want to thank Trump supporters for tearing down the republican party.

You're welcome. Your turn is well overdue.

Not a prediction, but I have a feeling this Bernie vs Hillary thing isn't going to end up well for your party heads.

Meh, I'm fine with Hillary, hell, the more I think about it, maybe Trump is what we need. (Only his tax cuts, I don't want anything else..)

Meanwhile at the "Clinton Foundation", Bill, Hill, Chelsea, and the family dog are going to jail, regardless of the corruption of Obama's "Justice" Department.

And I'd like to thank you for teeing up a criminal pending an indictment, and a socialist. You can't make this stuff up!

Careful throwing those nuclear hand grenades!

You seem to have as much faith in your fellow GOP'rs as I have a lack of same.

I disagree. They were/are Conservatives left with no place to turn. Cruz was the last man standing on matters of small government and individual liberties.

if Cruzites despise Trump more than Hillary I wonder about what they really want in politics

You can partially thank Obama for creating an imperial presidency. You overlook that Congress and the Supreme Court serves as a "brake" to the President. I don't plan on voting for T-Rump. However, I'm CERTAINLY not voting for Clinton.

I will only speak for myself. But I want the strongest possible conservative faction possible inside the Republican party. Going forward, I'm treating this as an off-year election, disengaging from the Presidential race. My current plans are to leave the top of the ballot blank. I am however persuadable by a Libertarian candidate for the top of the ticket.

so you ignore the fact that we can have 25 years or more of a left wing dominated supreme court that conservatives -if they get power again-have the disgusting habit of respecting the crappy precedent liberal courts create?
