Some people think we should work on getting violent people off the streets. They're a bunch of idiots.

Everybody knows its pistol grips. On semiautomatic rifles, of course. Semiautomatic rifles without pistol grips are fine, and pistol grips on bolt action rifles are fine too. But you'd better not put a pistol grip on your semiautomatic rifle, or we'll get really mad at you, and maybe throw you in jail for 5 years. Don't worry, we won't throw you in jail for 5 years if you fight with cops, light a car dealership on fire, repeatedly abuse your wife and children, or drive drunk over, and over, and over again. But if you take the pistol grip off your bolt action rifle, and put it on your semiautomatic rifle, BOOOYYYY are you in trouble!

It’s truly incredible how our gun laws are simultaneously nonsensically strict and hilariously weak. Like we super over regulate the most innate parts of firearms then just barely have any regulations on the things that actually makes a difference.

Was this kid every charged with any crime? Any criminal history at all?

If not, the whole “violent people off the streets” canard seems to be a big giant fail.

What kid, and what's that have to do with pistol grips on semiautomatic rifles? Stop deflecting. Next thing we know you're going to be arguing that drunk driving is more dangerous than pistol grips on semiautomatic rifles, when everybody knows that the most serious problem facing our society today is pistol grips on semiautomatic rifles.

LMAO.. The kid that just killed 19 fourth graders. Oh, you don’t want to talk about that?

Did he kill 19 fourth graders because he had a pistol grip on his rifle?

No, he killed 19 kids because we make firearms easier to purchase than alcohol for eighteen years olds. Just admit you consider dead kids collateral damage.

Why do you guys continue to equate those with a pro gun position as okay with or responsible for horrible illegal acts like this? Do you support banning alcohol? If not you are responsible for all the DUI deaths in America! That is world class moronic thinking.

No he killed those kids because he was a sick POS. Not because I support the second amendment.

It was easier to kill them because of the gun AND THE LACK OF A SECURE ENTRANCE AND THE LACK OF SCHOOL SECURITY AND THE LACK OF COURAGE BY POLICE!

Without the security part you could change the method of killing from the rifle to a revolver or even a machete and the kids still die. Without the immediate police response the number goes up.

Make it very hard to get in to begin with AND have as many good guys with guns as possible. All while trying to sniff out these monsters before they kill.

Make mental health issues WITH open threats of violence a crime or at least a prohibitor of gun ownership. If caught with a gun after that serious prison time.

Things can be done without violating the 2nd amendment.

Failure to DO anything about 18 year olds being able to purchase weapons like this IS a tacit acceptance of the status quo.

Do you support allowing sick POS's to purchase these types of firearms? Do sick POS's have a second amendment right to buy them and kill children?

A teacher propped a door open according to the reports I have read... How many thousands of times a year do you think that happens in schools? Hmmm... Heavily armed police didn't have the courage to confront him... I know, let's arm teachers...

Okay, we have found some common ground... How do you propose we screen out those with mental health issues?

So why is the first response to every mass shooting to scream that we have to ban rifles based on whether or not they have pistol grips? Why not propose something meaningful instead?

It's funny that you want to compare guns to alcohol all of a sudden. Any time I do that, gun control zealots scream "whataboutism." But there are good reasons to treat alcohol more strictly than guns. (1) Alcohol kills a lot more people in this country than guns do, and that's even with the drinking age at 21, (2) we don't have a constitutional right to drink alcohol, and (3) you can't defend yourself with a shot of vodka. I think dead kids are collateral damage with respect to guns exactly to the degree that you think they are collateral damage with respect to alcohol.

The US government sends 18 years off to be cannon fodder, so you want them not to legally own a gun?

I want to know where this kid got the money to buy a 70,000 dollar pick up truck and over 5 grand in weapons and ammo

The person that started this thread has been on a gun-trolling tirade.

Here are the assault weapon characteristics. The person that started this thread has focused their unrighteous anger at the injustice of "pistol grips," not the slaughter of schoolchildren. They're a pistol grip justice warrior. "Free ALL of my pistol grip people from pistol grip prisons," he screamed from the mountaintop.

      4. The capacity to accept a detachable magazine at some location outside of the pistol grip.
    5. A semiautomatic pistol with a fixed magazine that has the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds.

    7. A semiautomatic shotgun that has the ability to accept a detachable magazine.
    8. Any shotgun with a revolving cylinder.

The NRA is going to update one of its slogans: "Guns don't kill people, lack of school security does."

Please post evidence to support your claim.

It’s truly incredible how our gun laws are simultaneously nonsensically strict and hilariously weak. Like we super over regulate the most innate parts of firearms then just barely have any regulations on the things that actually makes a difference.

It's almost as if government is a really poor source of law.

You could do that, or you could explain to us why you think guns should be banned because they have pistol grips. Do you care about saving lives, or do you care about pistol grips?

If you'd rather talk about flare launchers instead, be my guest. Tell us about all how Democrats are trying to save us from the rash of flare launcher murders.

Please post evidence to support your claim.

No. Everyone who is even remotely paying attention this issue knows that banning assault weapons is on the tip of every Democrat's tongue. And everyone who is just a little more familiar with firearms and the actual laws Democrats are pushing knows that the main thing that defines an "assault weapon" in their eyes a pistol grip (or one of a list of other totally meaningless features, with the pistol grip being the most commonly used).

If you didn't know that's what your heroes are championing, you're a uninformed dupe and not worth debating on the issue.

But I KNOW that you know all of this, because we've been talking about it for a long time, and you posted the definition yourself. So you're probably just lying.

There it is.

Have a nice holiday weekend.

Yes, there is YOU selectively quoting my comment, ignoring 99% of what I wrong because you lack the ability to respond to it in any way that won't make you look foolish. So I guess I was right about the "lying" part.

Translation ~ any gun that looks scary

Leave the gun, take the pistol grips.

Leave the gun, take the pistol grips.

We're assured time and time again that no one is trying to take our guns. They're just trying to save us all by taking our pistol grips. I feel so safe already.
