'It's scary:' Wilson County family looks for answers after school bus window is shot through

"After finishing class at Speight Middle School on Thursday, 14-year-old Skyler Bass got on her usual school bus to head toward her home near Fremont.
...
“One minute I’m on my phone listening to music, and I just hear a pop,” Skyler Bass said. “And then just glass on me.”
...
“When my daughter called me, it really did scare me,” Holly Bass said. “And it’s more scary as a parent when you can’t protect your child.”
That's in North Carolina and pretty scary.
Like the old "Duck and Cover" drills we had when I was in school. Of course us snot nosed anti authoritarian boys called them "Duck and Kiss your Ass goodbye" drills.Simple solution. Just add "How to duck on a school bus" training to the "Active shooter" training when your young child takes their first solo steps into the world and starts school..Excellent way to start on their road to understanding a grown up world.
Make it a crime to own guns so people will voluntarily turn them in. Who wants to be a criminal, nobody I know that's for sure.
