It's only fair that the U.S. be "invaded" by Mexicans

Didn't the U.S. basically steal a huge chunk of land from Mexico? Texas and a huge chunk of California were Mexican lands. The Mexicans were naive enough to allow American settlers on their land. Then the Americans stole the land.

America started a bogus war. Invaded Mexico. Won the war and forced Mexico to give up huge chunks of land.

So, wouldn't it only be fair for Mexicans settlers to "invade" the U.S. the way we did them?

I can't imagine how anyone could deny that we wronged Mexico in the past. I'm not saying we should give back the land. I'm just saying we need stop complaining about Mexico.

And thus, when a citizen of another country crosses another country’s border without proper permission, the are an invasion force on one.

I'm pretty sure we weren't cavemen in 1848. We stole the land. Now some Americans are freaking out about an "invasion." It's laughable.

If half the U.S. population become of Mexican descent that's perfectly fair. It's the way it should be.
 
Of course, the native people in the Americas NATURALLY spoke Spanish....and there was no conquest there

SO what you are advocating is that it is appropriate to just engage in the old ways that borders were established...so would you have no problem if we just said **** it and took over all of Mexico and Central America?

Mexicans...that speak Spanish. Of course that was all natural...right?

Your world vision and understanding of history is ****ing embarrassing.
 

How much of Honduras did the U.S. "steal." Is that why they are coming here? Or how much of Africa and the Middle East did Europe "steal." Is that why the lowlifes from those areas are invading Europe? And what of the map you showed. If mexico still owned it, mexicans would still be invading our territory. You know, there are people out there who would say you are a worthless, vile pile of ****. I'm not saying that. I am just telling you a truth by saying that there are people out there who would think of you in that was. As for me, I will not give an opinion.
 
Leave Texas and large areas of New Mexico and Colorado out of that. Mexico yielded everything in the Rio Grand and west to the continental divide in a treaty (pic below). Additional areas were ceded in the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo.

Except for parts of California it's a silly argument, because the land was uninhabited--mostly still is.

Pretty sure the Mexican's weren't taking a Siesta at the time, and then woke up and said "Yo homie, donde esta the land?"

The citizens of every country go through ethnic changes as people from all over the world intermix.

The invasion that must be stopped involves foreign nationals, national sovereignty, and the need to stop a political party from encouraging and supporting them.
 


Back in the 1840's it was pretty common to take land after winning a war.

We won the war, and we took land. We didn't take as much land as we could've. We were very polite about the whole thing.

If our enemies won the war, they would've taken land too.
 

It wasn't Mexico's land to begin with.

Various American Indian tribes would go to war with one another over ownership of the lands. Not all tribes, but some did. And they massacred each other, don't you kid yourself. The Southwest, namely what is now New Mexico, Colorado, Utah and Texas, were hotbeds of violent warfare between tribes. My history professor called the Apache the "Hells Angels" of the tribes in that area. The Navajo and Ute were terrible to one another. Some say the Anasazi were driven from New Mexico by the Comanche.

When white guys showed up they were better at killing. Superior weapons, tactics, and the will. And so the rest is history. Perhaps some day we Americans will suffer the same misfortune.

And Mexico was 'stolen' by the Spanish. It's been human history as long as there were humans. In the civilized world, we hope it has stopped.

Conquest was the primary means of settlement in the past. Sides won, sides lost. It's not like we can make extreme changes now, that would be just as unfair to the generations living in the present, by no fault of their own.

It's nothing to be proud of tho, that kind of conquest, but it is generally a bell that cant be unrung.
 
Personally, I'd love to see Mexico be part of the US, great people, beautiful country, mountains, beaches, jungles, ancient ruins, great food and culture.

But it's not going to happen:

1. Upgrading Mexican infrastructure to US standards would be way too costly.

2. Most Mexicans dont want to be Americans. They have their own nationality and pride and a more homogeneous culture than the US. And I respect that.
 

At the end of the Mexican/American war, the Mexicans who lived in what is now the US had their property rights respected and became US citizens.

The Mexicans sneaking in today have no ancestral claim.

There have been two political revolutions in Mexico since. The Govt of today is not the same one as 1847 so it has no claim either.

The US totally conquered Mexico and occupied it until 1848. We could have kept it all, most historians say it would have been better for the Mexican people becoming part of the US.

Pretty sure this is how all of todays countries came to be at some point. The old survival of the fittest. Of course in 1939 when Hitler was taking over Europe its a good thing The US was around. Even if we did steal the land.

I always wonder how anyone can admire a man who single-handedly completely destroyed his country with his stupidity. Forgetting what a garbage human being Hitler was, he ran Germany into the ground with his stupidity. Was it really a great idea to expel people like Einstein? How can anyone still admire such a dummkopf?

Absolutely. In my lifetime countries in Europe have changed.

Nobody stole anything. They took it by force, and kept it.
 

It was officially Mexicos land. Why did we need a treaty if it wasn't their land? The problem is we basically put a gun to their heads and forced them to sign the treaty. It's kind of like someone putting a gun to your head and telling you to sign away your car for $1,000.

I don't see why we need to deny history.

They took it by force and kept it but they didn't steal it? That doesn't make sense.

They invaded Mexico and then forced them to sign over the land. They stole the land. We're talking 1848 here not 600 B.C. This is just a few years before the Civil War and long after the American revolution.
 

It was a requirement for Apache men to raid other people's lands and people. That definitely doesn't make for good neighbors.
