Lols in the Levant-

The Israeli government spends millions trying to shape public opinion of Israel in the USA. One government sponsored project is the Act.IL app, which is a recruitment tool whose intended goal is to get Israelis to download the app, which highlights news stories and social media posts that Israel wants users to troll with inorganic comments or likes. The app calls this 'doing missions'.

If CNN publishes an article online which depicts Israelis as living under constant threat of terror attacks, the Act.IL app will direct trolls to like the article on Facebook or Twitter. Another strategy is to get trolls to make comments which attempt to confuse the average American reader, who may not be familiar with the I/P situation; trolls will dispute the terminology used by a journalist who reports on Palestinian children who've been killed by Israel, in an attempt to convince readers that the children were terrorists (sound familiar anyone??)

The Act.IL app has also been used to get Americans fired from their jobs. Yes, that's right- people in Israel have gotten Americans fired from their American jobs.

When Israel’s military begins to attack, so does its army of online trolls – Mondoweiss

So I found it endlessly amusing that Israel's trolls failed to perform a mission to control the like/dislike ratio, as well as the comment box on the recruitment video posted on YouTube. The recruitment vid has 26 likes & 233 dislikes. Comments are overwhelmingly critical of Israel for this sneaky attempt at controlling American public opinion.

They certainly have some interesting ways of doing things. Most countries are just probably more hidden about doing things like this.

lol. You guys are ridiculous.

Correcting the record or letting your voice be heard is "trolling" now? Jews standing up for themselves to support getting facts out to the public or dealing with lies and anti Israeli nonsense is "trolling"?

There are definitely lols here. But they are not where you think they are.

I downloaded the app to see what exactly was going on. Its rather weird to be honest. Its not really correcting the record. Sure, some of them are trying to get things removed that are hateful towards Jews. But a lot of it is making comments and things on articles that make Israel look bad. The whole reward system like Duolingo is so weird. Like I said, most countries do this, they are just not open about having random civilians doing it.

even when they have a persian jew announcing in the video, people still call jews russian khazars.

What part of the OP didn't you understand? The Act.IL app instructs people what to comment on, and what to say. The worst part of it is, the app creates lists of Americans to target with harassment. If you support a foreign government directing its citizens to harass Americans, then maybe the real problem is your dual loyalties? No one should be harassed in the USA for having an opinion.

lol. Yes, because advocacy by Jews is harassment.

And a dual loyalty smear also?

Good thing Jew hatred doesn't ooze through internet wires. Everyone here would need a bath.

Meh. Not much more than an activist organization app. Least it is clear where the activists are coming from

So you believe that a foreign government should attempt to control free speech in the country where you live, and enact retribution upon people they don't like?

And a dual loyalty smear also?

I'm rethinking the dual loyalty charge... on second thought, you don't appear to hold any loyalty to Canada. You're pretty open about only caring about people who are Jewish.

Yawn.

Free speech is being "controlled" how exactly?

Would you speak out on an issue if it meant that you stood a good chance of losing your career? Most people wouldn't, and that's why Israel and their goon squad shouldn't be allowed to influence free speech in North America.

So, you are mistaking freedom of speech with freedom of slander.

He doesn't think Jews have a right to speak out, and certainly not in any sort of organized way. Pretty straightforward.

I don't believe that any foreign government or people who work on their behalf should be allowed to dictate what is acceptable speech in the United States or Canada. But you refuse to even acknowledge what it is I'm saying. Are Jews a nation?

It's just another version of the Hasbara Handbook, and an equally transparent pro-Israeli propaganda tool. Below:

Kinda makes one wonder why Israel is so desperate to paint itself it glowing terms...of course it couldn't be anything to do with its foreign policy, vis-a-vis Palestine.

Because there is quite a few people more than happy to demonize Israel to the point of lying blatantly....

I thought Israel was a master manipulator with total control over the western media while the Palestinians and their supporters were all unsophisticated rubes trying to break through?

You guys should pick a viewpoint...

Legitimate criticism of Israel or its lobbying tentacles isn't slander.

Of course it isn't; but you try telling that to the usual suspects here. Expect a whining chorus of 'anti-Semite!' any time you challenge Israeli foreign policy. It has become tediously predictable.
