Family says 13-year-old was killed Friday by Israeli gunfire at West Bank protest against new settlement near Ramallah
According to Palestinian reports, Ali Abu Aliya, 13, was shot in the stomach during a violent protest in Kafr Malik in the central West Bank against the establishment of a new settlement outpost. He was brought to a nearby hospital in critical condition, and later died of his wounds, the Palestinian Red Crescent medical service said. The Israeli Military Police has opened a criminal investigation into the death of a Palestinian teenager, who was reportedly shot by Israeli troops during a riot on Friday, the Israel Defense Forces said Sunday. The military initially lied about using live ammunition to break up the protest, saying instead that it had only used less lethal riot dispersal weapons like rubber-tipped bullets, but later admitted that soldiers had in fact used .22-caliber Ruger rounds in Kafr Malik on Friday.

Palestinian Health Ministry says Ali Ayman Nasr Abu Aliya "succumbed to his wounds after he was shot with live rounds in the stomach" in occupied West Bank, on December 04, 2020.

Since the Israeli Defense Forces will be investigating themselves again, does anyone really expect there will be any prosecution of an IDF soldier, it must be wondered.

The IDF has prosecuted and convicted IDF personnel for deaths or injury of Palestinians....

How many Palestinians have been prosecuted by Palestinians for killing Israelis?

Oh, that's right. They honor and lionize those who kill Israelis....

Jean-s:

To answer your question for me alone rather than everyone, no, I don't believe the shooters will be prosecuted for fatally shooting the youth. Homicide by agents of the Israeli State is too common in the Palestinian Occupied Territories. Nor do I think the military which lied about using live ammunition to break up the rioting will be prosecuted for their uttered falsehoods. Truth and honour mean nothing if they inconvenience the manifest-destiny of forceful colonisation of territory by a ethno-religious occupying power.

Peace and be well.
Evilroddy.

It is rare for IDF soldiers to be prosecuted for killing Palestinian civilians.

IDF soldiers have killed unarmed children, unarmed disabled civilians, journalists have been killed by Israeli snipers, and none of those responsible have been charged with anything.

The IDF get off scot-free in Occupied Palestine.

I was hoping you'd respond to Fledermaus' question/comment (below).

Israel is a sovereign nation with recognized international borders.

What are your thoughts of a 13 year old Palestinian boy participating in violent and dangerous protests? Do you think it's justified that Palestinian children are involved in violent uprisings?

But it happens. And it doesn't happen on the other side. So there's no ****ing comparison.

Read the article I cited before you make an asinine comment.

Rare =/= Never.

It still happens.

And the opposite. Has it ever happened?

More trouble in occupied East Jerusalem
Israeli border police provocatively entered an East Jerusalem refugee camp this morning, with injuries suffered by "both sides". Six Israeli border police were lightly hurt when residents of the Qalandiya refugee camp hurled objects at officers from rooftops, the Border Police said in a statement. The Palestinian Authority Health Ministry said four Palestinians were injured, three of them seriously and one moderately, all allegedly from live fire. The ministry said the three serious patients were undergoing surgery, two of them after taking bullets in the chest and one having been struck in the femoral artery.

Was this small child dropping heavy objects onto police?

Even more evidence that loss of life over all this is not going to end anytime soon.

So he deserved to be shot and killed?

Did I say that?

No.

What I bring up is that it is a common tactic of the Palestinians to put children in harms way to either prevent Israeli response or as ready mix martyrs when Israelis do respond.

Win win for the Palestinians.

Are you unable to answer a perfectly reasonable question?
Will you send your children deliberately to engage in violence against armed forces on high alert?

The IDF initially lying about stuff is like saying the there is snow on top of Everest. Often times the initial lie is changed to yet another lie and so on until the evidence so undermines these lies a reluctant admission is the only option left.

My guess is that if anyone is charged, which is not at all set in stone, they will not be punished to the same degree a Palestinian killing an Israeli would be. To elaborate further , I think a soldier will be charged with an offence over the death of this child and the case will be yet another PR opportunity, followed by the mini trauma/drama in Israeli circles that follow, with the soldier receiving a very lenient sentence/demotion etc

From what I understand, once an Israeli/Israelis are killed by a Palestinian/Palestinians it is only Israelis that can prosecute them. If it happens in Israel it is dealt with by Israeli courts, obviously, and if it happens in the occupied territories it is dealt with by an Israeli military court.

So, if the above is true, then it would explain why no Palestinians convict and/or prosecute other Palestinians for attacks on Israelis

Israelis are not immune from " lionizing" other Israelis who kill/have killed Palestinians. Ariel Sharon has a park named after him and was/is a national hero despite his involvement in the Qibya massacre and his complicity in the Sabra and Shatila massacres. Menachim Begin has a road named after him despite being involved in Jewish terror attacks against Arabs in mandate Palestine. I am sure ther will be others but the point is already made without them.

Your article states that police arrested 2 of the 3 suspects in a car theft and that the Palestinians in response literally attacked them with CINDER BLOCKS from the rooftops.

Your Jew hatred and bigotry has been on full display these last few days.

Let's see....

Palestinians AS A RULE lionize murderers of innocent civilians...

Can you show Sharon was memorialized, at this park (or any other edifice, building, etc.) for those massacres (done by others)?

I see how quickly you dropped that stuff about why Palestinians don't indict/convict Palestinians that are charged with killing Israelis. You didn't know that was the case and the explanation scuppers your posts attempted smear of Palestinians.

So what do you do, not missing a beat ? Go into another attempted smear Palestinians post lol

I have cited two examples of Israelis lionizing other Israelis that have been involved in the murder of innocent Palestinian civilians. Sharon took part in the massacre at Qibya. Obviously the facts aren't known to you.

But now that we have put the two attempted smears in your posts to the sword we can get back to the topic and end any chances of it being derailed further by them
