JERUSALEM (AP) -- Israel is rejecting remarks by President Barack Obama contending it no longer opposes the nuclear deal that world powers struck with Iran in 2015.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Friday that "Israel's view on the Iran deal remains unchanged."
News from The Associated Press

Obama's claim was that Israeli intelligence, and not merely US intelligence, confirms that Iran is complying thus the deal is working. Netanyahu can say Israel's position regarding the deal remains the same and that does not contradict Obama's claim.

Yes, Isreal still disapproves of the deal. And, yes, Israel's intel confirms that the deal is on course with Iran complying.

These things are not mutually exclusive.

Get it?

The quote from Obama is - "it's the assessment of the Israeli military and intelligence community ... that acknowledges this has been a game-changer."

A "game-changer" can also be a severe negative. If the Israeli military and intelligence community had actually used that term when talking to Obama or someone in his administration, which I doubt, then it wouldn't be out of character for Obama to spin it to mean the opposite of what it was intended to mean. Neither Obama nor the AP defined the term, Obama just throws it out there so that in the context of his speech it appears to be supportive of his position. However, Netanyahu seemed to understand what his own people meant and I would presume that he responded in kind when he made his statement that "Israel's view on the Iran deal remains unchanged."

Is she hot?

The Mossad has not objected to Obama's statement. The ellipsis in the article is misleading. Obama did not claim that Israel likes the deal. He claimed that Israel confirms Iran is complying.

The Mossad publicly comments about ongoing investigations?

Misleading. I watched the press conference. Obama claimed that Israel intelligence confirms Iran's compliance and that confirmation acknowledges this has been a game changer.

The ellipsis is misleading, presumably intentionally. No one could watch the press conference and misunderstand Obama's statement do badly.

Israeli intelligence did not use the term. Israel's intelligence confirming compliance acknowledges this has been a game-changer.

If you watched the press conference, this would be obvious. Don't trust ellipsis. Read the transcript of the words in between and you'll see this plain as day.

Mossad shares intel with the US president. Unless Israeli intelligence claims that Iran is not complying, we can presume the statement is factual.

And you know about Mossad and Cia intelligence matters how again?

One can presume the president is correct in his statement, given no indication from Israel, whatsoever, that Iran lacks compliance.

Do you have anything to counter Obama's claim that Israeli intel believes Iran is complying?

Israel opposes the deal because it gives Iran an advantage. Instead of using the sanctions to put pressure on the Iranians to change their way and stop the proxy-war on Israel specifically and the West in general the deal fully ignores Iran being the no.1 sponsor of terrorism in the world and connects the sanctions only with their nuclear aspirations thus creating a situation where the Iranians are allowed to continue spreading their global terrorism and continue their activities in Syria, Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq and other places while the Western powers can do nothing about it because it would be a violation of the deal. So from a position of weakness Iran managed to get a deal that favors them and allows them to go on without any sanctions placed upon them and without changing their ways.

I don't know what Obama was thinking hinting that Israeli security and intelligence officials came to agree with this deal and accept it as a good deal, that's clearly not the case, no such officials have ever suggested anything like that in the time passed since the deal became a reality.

I don't know what Obama was thinking hinting that Israeli security and intelligence officials came to agree with this deal and accept it as a good deal,

He made no such claim.

He claimed that Israeli intel confirms Iran's compliance. That confirmation of compliance is taken, by Obama, as an acknowledgement that this deal is game-changing (game-changing because Iran is, for the first time, complying with Western demands). The ellipsis in the AP article is misleading.
