Question: What to you get when you begin with the Zionist belief that a German or Russian Jew who has never seen Palestine has the right to take farms away from the Muslim Palestinians that lived there for centuries because God said it was their "Promised Land"?

Answer: This mess!

I wonder how it would have played out if the Bible had said Texas was the "Promised Land"? Try telling a Texan God gave you his land, but pick out your headstone first! Maybe the English and U.S. meddling in nation building creating Israel for the Jews after WW II wasn't such a good idea after all!

So why still no peace? The Muslims have their terrorist groups to blame and the Israelis have their Zionist religious prejudice and expansionism to blame! Neither group will allow the majority of Muslims and Jews in the Middle East to live in peace together. How bright do you have to be to see that Israels over blown response is just what the Muslim terrorists were hoping for? It played right into the hands of those who want to derail any peace talks! You'd think Bush was running Israel the way they played into the hands of the terrorists!!

The Israelis better decide whether they want to live in a constant state of war forever or get their Zionists in line and make a homeland for the Palestinians. It seems they would rather punish Muslim civilians after every terrorist provocation as if they can control the terrorists.

The motto of Israel should be changed to "It's better to be happy than right!"

Make a homeland for the Palestinians? That’s about the dumbest thing I've read. Buddy you need to get a clue the Pals don’t want a homeland.
Those lazy sob’s want to always play the victim to the world instead for building a homeland. And to top it off you’re dumb enough to believe them.

Sorry Mr. D, had to move this.....in order to post in Breaking News, there must be a link to some sort of article, unless it's something that you just saw that does not yet have an article....which doesn't appear to be the case here.

Question: What do you get when ignorant people seize upon a word of which they haven't the faintest understanding and form their opinions around the most shallow platitudes imaginable?

You make my point! Prejudice and stereotyping never replaces rational thought which is the major reason the conflict goes on and on!

bullshit! They DONT want to live in war you nimrod! They dont want peace!
Why is this so f...ing hard for you people to understand?

The hezbolla? f88k you dipshit.
I've seen first hand their version of peace.
US Embassy bombing of 18th April 1983
241 Americans Killed Bombed US Marine Barracks October 23, 1983

Maybe one day you jackasses will wake the hell up!

First of all, an unbiased reading of history could support the Muslim belief that Zionist Jews (not all Jews) are the original terrorists of the recent problem.
The definition of terrorism = the use of violence and intimidation in the pursuit of political aims. (Israel doesn't do that????) The Zionist Jews after WW II did not come to Palestine to simply live in freedom and peace. They came to take the land from the indigenous Muslims by any means. Ignoring the massive proof of that fact is like ignoring the Holocaust! It is rewriting history to not admit the Palestinians were forced out of Israel and off their farms by threats of violence and prejudicial laws. Many go back to see their farms being run by Zionist Jews who just took them. That has played a big part of the hatred towards Israel! I guess they hold a grudge! Of course Hollywood movies have told a patriotic, heroic story that has colored American attitudes towards Israel conveniently leaving out what was done to Muslim Palestinians who had lived there for centuries by Zionist Jews from all over the world!

So what do do now! Israel obviously should protect itself from attacks by terrorists, but it is clear that many of their targets have no terrorist connection. Much of what they are doing is terrorism aimed at the general population of Lebanon and the Palestinians. Much of the Middle East has accepted that Israel is not going away! Israel has to stop taking the bait of the terrorists and helping in their goal to derail peace talks if it ever wants to live in peace. If Israel retaliates in such a disproportional way to every terrorist plot to derail peace talks they can be self righteous in actions, but live with terrorism forever! By now they should have learned terrorism won't end until the Palestinian issue is settled! Some Israelis have learned that, but terrorist attacks give support to the hawks.

The belief that all Muslims want to kill all non Muslims and rule the world is ignorant prejudice! Using the Koran to support that is as silly as taking every verse of the Bible as literal proof of this or that! How many would like to live by every verse in the old testament! Geez! Osama Bin Ladin hasn't even said that! He wants countries with majority Islamic populations to go back to the Middle Ages to his theocratic view of religion and the U.S. to go home with it's culture! Most Muslims don't support that anymore than we do! Just because the people of Iraq don't want us there doesn't mean they want Osama Bin Ladin's Medievel world to return! Many are unaware how progressive and tolerant of all religions Baghdad was before Saddam, years of sanctions, and the civil and cultural destruction of multiple wars! They are paying a terrible price for a democracy that never seems to arrive!

Anti Zionist isn't anti Jew!

Anti Zionist isn't anti Jew!

I suspect a few of you consider yourself part of the Christian Right. Just guessing from your lack of courtesy, anger and putting words in people's mouths! I very much respect your right to have your religious and political opinions even though I don't share them, but remember what we both dislike about Islamic fundamentalist terrorists is their intolerance for anyone who disagrees with their beliefs. So try to have some tolerance with those of us who don't agree with your beliefs!

Incidently, I believe that Jews, Christians or Muslims should have the right to live where ever they wish in peace as they did in Palestine before 1948. My disagreement with Israeli Zionists is that they want a Israel controlled by a religion much as Iran is controlled by Islam. I disagree with that equally when Muslims, Jews or Christians favor those of one religion over another! I believe in separation of church and state and that those of all religions should be honored and welcomed into a country as long as they are good citizens. That's why I have a problem with Zionists, The Taliban or The Christian Far Right that wants to inject their religious beliefs into "OUR" schools and laws to promote their beliefs!

I am not a member of the Christian right, I am a registered democrat, and I think you are full of shite.

Saying one is only "anti-zionist" and crying that you aren't antisemitic is mere sophistry and displays your level of intellectual dishonesty. Do you make statements that you are anti-Germany, but have nothing against Germans? Anti-Japan without being anti-Japanese? Do you choose any other nation state to delegitimise or only the one for Jewish people? Are you calling for the destruction for any other nation-state, or only the Jewish?

Sounds to me that all you have done is visit a few ISM/internet intifada type web sites and are repeating their mindless propaganda. All that which you infuse into the word zionist and the babbling quality with which you use the term is indicative of much. Zionism is merely the term for the movement to establish a country for Jewish people -- the same basic right's as afforded the french or the Italians or anybody else. The fact that you are infusing the term with something nefarious and wishing to deny Jewish people any sense of self-determination shows a very real bias -- a bias that shows you to be antisemitic in attitude.

Well the easy approach is always to pull out the anti-semitic card! Talk about being intellectually dishonest! Is it ever possible to criticize Israel without that cheap tactic being pulled out? There is a difference between Zionist Jews and non Zionist Jews! I suppose when a Zionist throws a Muslim family off their farm of generations that is self determination! What a one sided load!

I've heard no one speak against Jews moving anywhere they want to to feel safe and be happy. Remember that many moved to the U.S. after WW II. The issue is that Zionist Jews whose ancestors for centuries had never set foot in the Middle East immigrated "illegally" to Palestine and then where supported by Great Britain and the U.S. because of sympathy after WW II. They then forced Palestinian Muslims off their farms and out of Palestine under fear of death. Israel was formed by the U.N., the vote was taken away from Muslims for a period of time, and wars and terrorism on both sides followed to this date! The Muslim world sees Israeli Zionists as people who were persecuted by the NAZI's, who now feel justified to become the new persecutor of Palestinians! The fact is that land that was taken in war by Israel supposedly as a "safety buffer zone" was developed with Jewish communities making it quite evident Israel never intended to give back the land. Only recently has the return of land occurred due to Sharon's change of heart. The myth that we have been told by Hollywood in this country, because Israel is a strategic ally, is that Israel has only wanted a peaceful existence. The facts and history don't support that! In the early days of Israel many of today's leaders were out and out terrorists. There is even clear proof of Israeli terrorist attacks in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Lebanon to keep the British government troops involved in the Middle East to support Israel.

They certainly have the right to defend themselves from attack, but they are systematically laying waste to all of Southern Lebanon to create another buffer zone at the cost of hundreds of innocent lives. Logistics experts have said it was clear that with U.S. encouragement Israel started preparing for this major offensive as soon as the provocation began! Israel and the U.S. don't want a cease fire as shown by the U.S. blocking it in the U.N. The issue isn't getting back three soldiers, it is setting back Hezzbolah and Southern Lebanon 10 years. Israel has the military might to do whatever it wants, but the price it will pay will be increased terrorism and living in fear. Remember, to many Lebanese Hezzbolah are the freedom fighters that drove Israel and Syria out of Lebanon! They have very mixed feelings about Hezzbolah. Like in Iraq, the insurgents are the Iraqis. Only a small percentage are Islamic fundamentalist fanatics who have come from other countries to fight Americans.

Someday Israel will have enough of living in fear and hate and decide to give back all lands taken in war and assist the Palestinians in forming a country. Arab nations have to accept Israel is here to stay, and Israel has to admit it's wrong doing in the formation of it's country and do all it can to heal the wounds of Palestinian Muslims whose land was stolen. It would be a very difficult job, but it beats living with terrorism forever! We need a U.S. president that will support that aim instead of support more war!
