Israel resumes aid deliveries to Gaza despite missile attacks
Israel has opened its border with Gaza to allow deliveries of humanitarian aid for the first time in ten days despite continued rocket and mortar fire from the coastal strip. Two Palestinian children were killed when one projectile fired by Hamas militants landed short of its target and struck a house in Northern Gaza. The first of an expected 90 trucks have started to deliver supplies to the Palestinian enclave, where most of the 1.5 million inhabitants are said to depend on aid. On Thursday, Israel vowed it would strike back at the militant group, Hamas, which controls Gaza, if attacks on Israel continued. Violence in and around Gaza resumed after a six-month ceasefire ended on December 19.

I doubt it.
It was all for political show.

DESPITE ONGOING REPEATED GAZA BASED ROCKET ATTACKS ON ISRAEL
they've finally understood that the Hamas wanted Israel to stop the blocus and allow food and medicines in Gaza!
so, it's not "DESPITE" ongoing rocket attacks, it's "IN ORDER TO STOP" rocket attacks

It's only a matter of time before Hamas steals these supplies just like they stole every other delivery.
link to an article saying that the Hamas steals medicines instead of giving them to the Palestinians?

your article says A spokesman for the Hamas police in Gaza said that the number of trucks was in fact 14 and they would be "delivered to Palestinians in need in the Gaza Strip."
He added that Hamas was the responsible body in the territory and it would decide how to distribute the aid
So they still distribute it, they don't block it
Bhkad! Nice post!
They distribute it their people and give the rest to the people.
Hamas quite often impounds food, medicines, and fuel meant for the populace. This booty is first distributed to Hamas officials (for personal use or to resell for a nice profit) and then what is leftover trickles down the supply chain. Hamas has also attacked transfer terminals and destroyed cargo trucks as they wait in the que for loading/unloading.what does that mean?
oh yeah, of course they said they'd distribute it first to their Hamas-run hospital. But everything in Gaza is Hamas-run, so I don't see the big deal.
It's quite different from preventing the medicines to be distributed, like Israel does.

It's strange how some of you "humanitarians" rail against Israel for limiting supplies (a non-violent tactic) and yet never complain at all about the barrier wall between Gaza and Egypt. Yes I know, it's a bit inconvenient and embarassing.
.
It's probably all moot anyway. Israel FM Tzipi Livni has just returned from talks with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in Cairo. As I understand it, Egypt and Israel have agreed to dismantle Hamas if the rocket attacks continue
Food, medicine, and fuel. The trifecta.OK OK you've convinced me. As far as medicines are concerned, Hamas is not better than Israel.
Perhaps not. Over the past two months, two IDF armored divisions have war gamed an incursion into Gaza. They're talking about attacking since several days. They say it will be mainly aerial attacks because the IDF doesn't want to fight by foot, there would be too many casualties. On the other hand the attack will be short, as you've got elections in february.
The ceasefire has expired. Hamas is firing dozens of rockets every day. Things are already bad bub. Even Egypt has come to the conclusion that enough is enough.Do you think it could influence the outcome of the votes? Who would gain votes if things turned bad in Gaza?

NAHAL OZ, Israel (AP) — Palestinian militants burst into southern Israel and killed two Israeli fuel terminal workers Wednesday in a surprise attack that threatened to set off wider fighting.
Channel 2 TV said the militants cut through a border fence to enter Israeli territory, killed two workers at the fuel terminal, and set fuel depots afire. Two attackers were killed as troops returned fire, but others fled back into Gaza, the Israeli military said. Plumes of smoke billowed up from the area around Nahal Oz, the sole conduit of fuel to Gaza's 1.4 million residents.

Inexplicable. What higher purpose is served in attacking the depot that supplies Gaza with its fuel supplies?

Just Google Hamas + corruption. Shouldn't be all that difficult. Thanks, I agree it was inexplicabe..
How about the other charges you leveled, be great if you have the sources for those too..

Mubarak of Egypt is also starving Gaza, worse than Israel over this actually. He only cares about keeping the foreign aid to his government, would not do anything that will upset those that provide this aid
