Isn’t Christianity putting faith at the primary trait they are looking for, telling us to our faces they only want stupid people who will believe whatever they tell them too???


All kinda stuff can be central to your philosophy..

Intelligence, logic And reason, being a good spouse or parent, charity, helping others, making money, exc, exc, exc..

Christianity CHOSE to put belief in the ridiculous as the central pillar of its philosophy..


It sure is funny that every tenant of most religions are exactly what a con artist would say..

But do t worry about it.. just have faith. Lol

I agree. The human brain is very capable of compartmentalizing and holding ideas that are contradictory if analysed closely. Most people don't subject themselves to such self analysis because it may undermine an emotional foundation they rely on to function every day.

I never claimed every Christian was stupid, I said that faith is inherently illogical, thus Christianity is targeting stupid people.

And faith is by dictionary definition illogical... you don’t need faith for something that is obvious.

Even If I target a catfish , I still might catch a bass..

Nope, Paul himself said...

"Keep testing whether you are in the faith; keep proving what you yourselves are. Or do you not recognize that Jesus Christ is in union with you? Unless you are disapproved." 2 Corinthians 13:5

In order to do so, that takes continuous endeavor to discover the nature or character of what Christ taught...making sure your beliefs line up with his teachings daily...following Christ is not for the stupid or the ignorant...

I said faith is targeting stupid people because it is.. faith by definition is illogical, if it was logical you wouldn’t need “faith” to think it was going to happen.

Smart people believe dumb things every day, and you catch things you were not targeting all the time..

So where was the logical fallacy?

Why isn’t it your ability to question??

If you question that Jesus was the son of god do you get salvation or if you believe in him completely, even though it is impossible from what we know of the world today, do you get salvation???

It is really hard to claim you are on the smart side when the vast majority of science , academia and scholarship disagrees with the validity of Christian theology..

I do question all the time and I've gotten my questions answered, with studying the Bible...like...

Why are we here?
What is God's purpose for us?
What is God's purpose for the earth?
Why does God allow wickedness for so long?
What does the future hold for mankind?
Why is it that man grows old and dies after such a brief existence, when even some trees live thousands of years?
What happens when we die?
Where are the dead?
Which of the many religions on earth does God approve?
How can I determine which is the right religion?
What does God require of me?

The list goes on and the answers are all within the pages of the Bible...

"Can be" sure. But the more intelligent people are the less likely they are to believe in irrational myths.

It isn't simply intelligence, it also has to do with emotional makeup.
 

Eliminate all questions related to god, and you eliminate most of those questions. Ask the remaining questions too much, and risk your sanity.

And that begs the question: What's the difference between a rational myth and an irrational myth? Are there rational myths? Is the myth of Sisyphus rational, or are all myths irrational by definition? Can we declare C. S. Lewis irrational, or was he rational in all things but his faith? Can we even separate the two?

True, like scientist who are mostly agnostic. Ever so slowly classical religion and philosophy are disappearing in modern societies.
 

On the contrary - Christianity is not based on blind faith.
The Creator (of Christian belief) had given mankind what is known as critical thinking that which is a tool in order to be able to discern and make personal judgement/decision.


Yes, logic is very much front and central part of it.
may I ask you: how much have you read and understood the Bible?
