islamophobia (1 Viewer)

First off, the link doesn't work. Second, I see absolutely nothing hysterical or "islamophobic" in your quoted section. Your analysis of the quote is way off the mark.

So you dont find the assertion that a muslim should not be president in the slightest bit discriminatory? Surely by saying its a bad thing that a certain group of people can vote your demonstrateing a hate filled attitude towards said group.

Nowhere in that quote does it say a Muslim should not be president. It does mention the danger of islamic extremism in the growing European muslim population, but it is a far stretch to apply that to moderate Muslisms.

Sounds like someones honest opinion, I don't agree, but there it is, just an opinion.

In my previous thread someone asked which islamophobic comments by moderators i was referring to so heres the url
http://www.debatepolitics.com/polls/12984-who-won-lebanon-4.htm

Namely this part
Europe is in trouble and most refuse to acknowledge it. Who will save France and other European countries when the Islamic populations become big enough to start voting for their Muslim representations and win? As time passes...France may see a Muslim President before their neighbors. And of course, within the Muslim part of France will be the growing Radical element.
This paragraph is insighting hysteria about the possiblilty that muslims should have the same rights as everyone else. If someone wrote a hysterical paragraph about how blacks have the vote and how america could soon have a black president thus bringing civilisation to an end they would be punished. Given the fact the a moderator is doing the exact same thing with muslims is this not a double standard?
We allow all sorts comments. Some are inciting some are insightful, some are just plain dumb.
We count on DP members to sort them accordingly.

Agreed but if someone made the same statement, exept about black people, they would be chastised for it. Im not saying that everything mildly offensive should be moderated. Im saying that if your going to moderate mildly offensive posts, at least do it evenly.

I agree, but I don't believe if someone said that a black man should not be president, that he would be silenced. Would folks jump this person hard, yes, but I don't think anyone in power here would silence them, but perhaps you have seen something I have not?

And if the black population had a dangerous radical element in it that was reponsible for the vast majority of terrorist attacks, you might be able to compare the two.
