The Australian government, whose leaders have invited Muslims who believe religious law should trump the nation's secular constitution to leave, now has launched an investigation into recordings of messages urging Muslims to kill enemies of Islam.

According to a report in the daily newspaper The Australian, members of the Federal Police force have begun looking into the DVD recordings by Sheik Feiz Mohamed. They collected a copy of the recordings recently from a 4,000-member Muslim youth center founded by Mohamed.

Do you think he's a muslim? Certainly you respect his christian faith right? Even given the possibility that he were a muslim, what about it? Is this not America where we constitutionally protect the practice of religious freedom? Certainly you are not anti-american as to be hinting that one's practice of the muslim faith would be somehow indicative of terrorist intentions.

But on this particular subject and in talking about Obama, let us be accurate.
His father was of Kenyan nationality, his Mother was a US citizen.
His Father was also a Muslim.
In Islam it is the father that names the child, it is the Mother that educates the child and sees that he is raised in the Faith.
Obama has recently admitted that he was an attendee at a Muslim school for 4 years, where he would have been taught according to islamic principles.

I do not say that this school was a madrassa, I have no idea what he was taught or how he was taught.
But knowing that he has attended a Muslim school means that his beliefs need to be really closely examined.
Or do we really need another person like Bush with preconceived notions as to what he will do once he becomes President.

We actually need to know as much as possible about any potential President and if this infringes his / her privacy, I would say TOUGH.

I attended Catholic school for 6 years, yet I am not a Catholic. The reasoning of calling Obama Muslim because of his school as a CHILD without looking at his furthering education is ignorance on the part of those that call him Muslim.

But knowing that he has attended a Muslim school means that his beliefs need to be really closely examined.

This knowledge that he is a Christian is already out there, but the ignorant idiots just see the name "Obama" and think Muslim without doing any checks of their own. His education has been scrutenized as well as his Christian faith.

All someone has to do is a little checking to see he is a Christian and not a Muslim, but that wouldn't make a good Republican slander now would it?

Just because someone was raised a religion, does not mean they follow that religion into adulthood.

Unfortunately all candidates today open themselves up to smear tactics. I have no doubt if Obama was running as a Rep. you'd see the same types of smearing going on. His background would still be an issue and the other side would use it. Furthermore people like me would still be concerned about his background and want to know more about it.
