QAMISHLO, Syria—An enormous fire raged across several wheat fields outside this town on July 6. It was a dry summer day and dark smoke towered over the countryside as the flames spread across the farmland. Some locals watched in awe at the inferno. Others tried to fight back with shovels and rakes. They had little success. They watched the blaze consume their livelihood. Locals told The Daily Beast that the fire started near Turkish military checkpoints along the border and made its way south across Kurdish farms. Scenes like this have become commonplace this summer as fires have burned across Northeast Syria (or “Rojava” as it is known to the Kurds and their supporters). They have been particularly destructive this year and suspiciously concentrated in contested territories that make up the lines between between U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), Turkish troops and Syrian pro-regime forces—as well as scattered fires near former ISIS strongholds. Now, as Turkish leaders threaten to invade this region, things could heat up even more. Throughout the summer the Turkish Army has been massing thousands of troops—including tanks and heavy weapons—along its border with SDF-controlled territory. Over the weekend Turkish officials announced they had notified both Russian and American leaders of their intent to launch a new military incursion into Northeast Syria, which would be the third major Turkish military operation in Syria, following incursions in 2016 and 2018. On Sunday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan proclaimed, "We entered Afrin, Jarablus, and Al-Bab. Now we will enter the east of the Euphrates.” .......... continued @ the link above
ISIS, Assad, and Turkey Are Waging a Shadow War on U.S. Allies in Syria
Arson, bombs, spies, and propaganda stoke tensions in northeast Syria as Turkish troops mobilize along the border for a threatened invasion.
The Syrian Kurds have been fighting ISIS on the ground with US forces since 2014. They liberated the ISIS capital city of Raqqa in October 2017, and defeated ISIS in Syria at Baghouz in March, 2019. Now Erdogan wants slaughter these people and ethnically cleanse their northern Syrian homeland called Rojava and replace the Kurdish population with Sunni Arabs. This is the Erdogan who closed the Turk border in 2014 as ISIS forces had the Kurdish city of Kobane surrounded on three sides less than half a mile away. This is the Erdogan that relaxed Turkish customs and border controls so that militant Islamist's from all over the world could easily transit Turkey unmolested and join ISIS forces in Syria. This is the Erdogan who allowed ISIS to sell Syrian oil at Turkish ports which helped fund the terrorist organization. Now, Erdogan tells Trump that he must support a NATO ally and step aside while Turkish troops and allied Sunni radicals slaughter the US Kurd allies. Yes, this is the same Erdogan who violently and sadistically represses the Kurdish citizens of Turkey and wonders why they resent him. And yes, this is the same Erdogan that recently purchased Russian military systems and told the US to cram it. The turncoat Erdogan is very fortunate that I am not the Big Kahuna in the Oval Office.
Oh, and Erdogan will slaughter Kurds no matter what is said or signed between Turkey and the US.
The Kurds would never help us again, and Middle East nations would be wary of joining any future US coalition.
USA betrays the deacedes old alliance sealed by blood in NATO, its own principles/laws and international laws for two conjectural groups of terrorists.
Turkey has gone rogue, and has become a pariah state aligned with Russia.
There are more journalists behind bars in Turkey than anywhere else on the globe.
USA has provided thousands of containers of weapons to a terrorist organisation that is also recognised by USA and attacks Turkey the NATO ally for decades, which means USA betrayed the blood-sealed alliance with Turkey in the region for this terrorist group for a short term unknown benefit.
The Syrian Kurds have not engaged in terrorism against Turkey.
The Turkish Kurds have fought back, but that is understandable due to the unending Turkish government persecutions and discrimination against this minority people.
Where has Turkey been in the fight against ISIS terrorism? See Post# 1.
I hope Turkey gets booted out of NATO asap. You are certainly no longer a democratic rule of law nation.
Hasan (Interviewer) (From 11.15 onwards into the interview): “In 2012, your agency was saying, quote: “The Salafists, the Muslim Brotherhood and Al-Qaeda in Iraq [(which ISIS arose out of)], are the major forces driving the insurgency in Syria.” In 2012, the US was helping coordinate arms transfers to those same groups. Why did you not stop that if you’re worried about the rise of Islamic extremism?”
Flynn: “Well I hate to say it’s not my job, but… my job was to ensure that the accuracy of our intelligence that was being presented was as good as it could be, and I will tell you, it goes before 2012. When we were in Iraq, and we still had decisions to be made before there was a decision to pull out of Iraq in 2011, it was very clear what we were going to face.”
Hasan (Interviewer): You are basically saying that even in government at the time, you knew those groups were around, you saw this analysis, and you were arguing against it, but who wasn’t listening?”
Flynn: “I think the administration.”
Hasan (Interviewer): “So the administration turned a blind eye to your analysis?”
Flynn: “I don’t know if they turned a blind eye. I think it was a decision, a willful decision.”
Hasan (Interviewer): “A wilful decision to support an insurgency that had Salafists, Al-Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood?”
Flynn: “A wilful decision to do what they’re doing… You have to really ask the President what is it that he actually is doing with the policy that is in place, because it is very, very confusing.”
Do you still think the same?
Yes.

Your Muslim Brotherhood loving president is no friend of freedom loving peoples everywhere.
He would like nothing better than to slaughter all Kurds in the Middle East.
You are actually legitimazing the ISIS and Al-qaeda kind of terrorism along with PKK/SDF/YPG.
In Iraq and now Syria, Millions of Syrians with various ethnicities are sheltered in Turkey, and taken care of; how many of them are sheltered in USA?
USA is the closest ally of the ME kingdoms, MBS is buddy of Trump actually.
Interesting behaviour, the more reality cracks your MSM propaganda, the more you get illegimate stance against your previous one and me.
My son has fought ISIS in Syria. Your Erdogan lies don't faze me.
Funny, your asshole president closed off the Turkish border to the Kurd Kobane defenders, but allowed tens of thousands of jihadists to cross Turkey with no problems to join ISIS.
I'm not interested in your Islamist AKA propaganda. When Trump is gone, I hope the next president reinforces our Kurdish allies.
I advise you to read some history of USA-Turkey relationship, geo-politics before choosing to accept a terrorist organisation in the region and world.
