Ok girls and boys. I have gotten tired of all the Trump escapades and tirades and 24/7 Trump this that and the other. It is to me, quite uninteresting now. The man seems to magically turn people brains into mush no matter their side, even mine gets mushy now. So I decided I needed a break and thought maybe you might too, and we should gnaw on something of a slightly different flavor for a change. :)

I know that buying and selling votes, literally paying cash and receiving said cash for them, is for the most part illegal. So lets consider for our thought exercise that it is not illegal to buy and or sell votes.

How much if any amount would you sell your vote for? Why? Why not? The floor is now open, let the games begin. I think people would appreciate in this thread we stay away from the routine bump and grind hostility of late and stick with good natured mild ribbing if so choose to rib and joke a bit. I think people would like a more laid back atmosphere in this thread. Thanks in advance. Oh and .

A box of Klondike Bars? SOLD!

I'd sell my vote for $25,000,000. I always liked that figure.

I have asked the mods to put up my poll. That 5 minutes sure goes by fast. It doesn't help I type like a T-rex with four fingers.

I would accept bids starting at $1K/year of term in office ($2K for a House seat vote, $4K for POTUS vote and $6K for Senate seat vote) and let the competition among candidates take it up from there. Of course, for such a system to be viable would require giving up your secret ballot - otherwise it would be too easy to cheat the cheating politicians.

Starting at $10k. But the joke's on you, I'm a non-Republican in Texas so my vote is basically pointless anyway.

Trump could buy my vote for a relatively modest amount of cash. I figure he'd allow me to make money on my own and I wouldn't really need much, if any, of his approval for my decisions.

A Democrat, especially one of today's Socialist Democrats, could also buy my vote but to do so I'd need to be paid in Bitcoin and lots of it. I figure I'd need at least $304,962,135.18 in bitcoin and then need to get it out of sight before they taxed the hell out of it. Basically, I'd need enough so that I could live here but wouldn't need to work and could pull up stakes and move anywhere if they started to get too out of hand.

My vote goes to whoever can bring about world peace and offer everlasting life free of disease, suffering and old age to me and friends and loved ones...;)

At least you might be paid something to "waste" your vote. ;)

Cheating the cheaters, that sounds like fun. I would love to see bidding wars for votes. It would encourage voting and suck money coffers of the politicos dry.

I'll sell mine for 5.7 billion. No reason. Just sounds like a good number and has more gravitas than a round 5 or 6 billion.

The only candidate I've run across who offers that kind of plan isn't accepting votes.

So, basically, you're going to build your own wall?

;)

Sure he is...I cast mine 43 years ago...

All joking aside I would sell my vote for a 1000 or 2000 depending on who was buying.

If you want to make to break it down to money. They spend about $1B to get 65M votes which works out to about $15 per vote

The poll isn't even in the area of reality, listing the highest as $1000+.

Democrats want hundreds of thousands each for their vote: Free college, free medical care and for tens of millions free food, free housing, free phones. Make it a $100,000 per vote and it would be a little closer - though for many it is to pay 100% for everything in their lifetime and that of their parents, their children and their grandchildren.

Produce one gallon of liberal tears or shout "white pride world wide" after a speech. Do either of those things and you have my vote. You don't even have to be white, you just have to have a sense of humor.

I know. The weird part is those bastards get us to PAY THEM for the privilege of voting for them. Thats only for just for whoever the one person they are running. I would be willing to bet at $100 plus for a full ballot people would be willing to register and then vote as required to get that hundred bucks. I would say at minimum 25% of the population. At $500 dollars a ballot, cash on the barrel head I bet I could get 50% of the full populations FULL ballot. I bet 34billion would buy an entire election from dog catcher to POTUS with 65 million voters paid plus the costs to verify and pay them, notices ext.. At least one time. People might get wise and start breaking up their ballots and selling each vote.

Yet you would be foolish to spend anything in solid red/blue states and thus able to target only swing (winnable?) states. Why waste even $1 buying votes in CA, TX, MA or NY? The critical votes in the last POTUS election were about 77K cast in only a few swing states.
